    2012 model Sport Nautique 200 or 226?

    Hi everyone,
I have decided to buy the 2012 model Sport Nautique 200 but now I am confused because the Sport 226 seemed more comfortable and useful to me. However I am doubtful about the 226's ski wake because I am a harcore skier, wakeboarder, wakeskater, wakesurfer, barefooter and also tubing. If you have a video of "skiing behind the 226" I will be satisfied.

For skiing, no doubt the 200V. The footing wake will be much nicer as well, although you may just want to upgrade to the ZR6 engine. Honestly, if you're hardcore anyting, the 226 isn't your boat. It is, however, a very large boat that would be awesome for filling up with family and friends, for a fun day of towed watersports.

If you are truly a hard core skier the best crossover boat is the 200 Sport V. It will give a great ski wake and still give a surf and board wake. I recommend that you test drive / ride them all before you buy.

Does any of you own the 2012 model sport 200 or the 226. Or the video while skiing and wakeboarding.

There's a video on nautiques.com of someone skiing behind the 200V.

The 200 is much better for the overall performance across all the different functions. Barefooting is a bit of a toss-up; if you are a pure long liner and you can prop the 226 for speed, it will be smoother between the wakes than the sport 200 due to the hull geometery. If you're more of a rec. footer and typically stay to one side or the other and like to use a boom, then the sport 200 is much better.

I thought that every nautique boats max speed was 50mph. Also can i use the ballast while wakeboarding or wakeskating?

Very few inboards and direct drives will do 50mph out of the box. Typical maw speeds are somewhere between 42-48mph. Of course you can use balast while wakeboarding thats what its there for. Everbody has personal preferences on how much ballast and where for each sport on each boat.
