What's the forums thoughts on the transom mounted stereo remote for 2012
    Specifically on the 230 --

If ordering a boat would you get it or not and explain why either way --

I have a transom remote and like it.

      PRO's
      - convenience when stopped for a swim and everyone is out of the boat
      - convenience when on the driveway and prepping or cleaning
      - full i-pod control... not just volume... selects play lists, album, artist, etc.

      CON's
      - The factory placement of the remote is high enough on the transom that when the factory cover is on the boat it rubs the top button on the remote and wears through the color layer. Doesn't seem to hurt it functionally but seems like it would be a problem easily fix with the rub guard material they use to protect the windshield

So for me pro's outweigh con's and if I were selecting options for a new boat I'd go with it.

        good info man - -
what kind of trailer you running on your 230 ? Im trying to decide between the phoenix and another Ram-Lin - -

dealer says he likes the phoenix braking system better - but ive always had a ram lin-

Other thing Im trying to weigh on is Ram Lin says they wont put tall trailer guides on but phoenix will ?? - ram lin says makes the trailer package too wide - - but phoenix has no problem with it (hmmm?) I see you have the tall guides on your versus just the side rub pads - - my old 226 trailer had the side guides - but with the placement of the "super air nautique" words on the sides of these 230's now - seems better to have the tall guides to bump the rub rail coming onto trialer versus the side pads potentially rubbing the lettering or decals as much - - (although we are very careful and very good at loading and unloading from trailer)

any comments on these (ram-lin versus phoenix and tall guides vs side pads)? Thanks bro..

We have one on our 08 210. I put it in because at the time CC didn't have it as an option for our model.

If you are even a little mechanically inclined, you could probably do it yourself for about half what nautique is charging. The only hard part is drilling the hole in the boat. And at that, it's not hard just nerve racking. Didn't want to crack the gel coat.

The three products you need are 210 + shipping at crutchfield, and you could probably find cheaper elsewhere.

          The remote unit MW1

          extention cord

          "Y" cord splitter

Ours is a Boatmate. We bought our boat as a dealer demo and they already had the trailer so I didn't have a choice, nor did I do any research. That said, I like the trailer... No problems in the season I've had it and seems well built, it has several nice extras the EZ loader under my 196 didn't have... eyes for the safety chains to clip into when disconnected, a clip for the electrical harness to clip into when disconnected, and vault hubs. Looks nice too.
