I do not think the guy was being a "rectum orifice" it was probably a part of a boat act in a waterski show. In most waterski shows, the group putting on the show has exclusive use of the water during the actual show, and what a team does to their water is often planned, sometimes down to the second on what each boat is doing and exactly where.

Notice when the jumper has ran up on the beach, he still is holding the rope handle. and it is attached to the boat

This is def a ski show. Notice just before he cuts the throttle and turn that he is aided by a boat wake. Although this is an extremely good one. Notice the driver pumping the throttle to keep it running. None the less, not to be tried by any Tom Dick or Harry.
Also, the passenger has her vest on, which is usually common in shows.

I would also bet the rider in that boat has had training on how to recover an unconscious waterskier, face down in the water, with a possible broken neck .

He accidentally hit reverse instead of just going to neutral when he initiated the power turn.

You can tell by the pylon it's from a ski show too. Look closely and you'll see the large rope loop thing (for lack of a better term!).

That is the prior lake ski show in Minnesota. When I worked at Midwest MasterCraft we provided the boats for them. We had the boat for service after the power turn gone wrong. Replaced most of the ECM and it ran just fine. That being said, I didnt recommend any friends to buy it...
