    Boat storage around Lake Grapevine.

We just got a 2007 Sea Ray 260 and need a better place to store it. I have called the marinas at Lake Grapevine, but thinking a boat storage close by would be cheaper. Any ideas or recommendations??

Selling a 2007 Sea Ray Sport 185 if anyone is interested!!!

I used to keep my boat at silverlake marina in their dry storage. all the marinas on lake grapevine are owned by the same comany, i think that helps keep their prices higher than the other local lakes. i shopped for a while for storage around the lake, and all i found was a place on dove loop almost at the public boat ramp. they had a waiting list longer than i cared to endure to get in.

There's really not any place decent to store out there. What ever you do, stay away from Scott's Landing. They are very high and raped us when we wanted to get out. We were working out of town for 6 months and our lease was up during this time. I spoke with the manager, John over the phone and informed him of our situation to see if I need to make a trip back to get everything out or not so we would not "automatically renew our year lease" and he said no need to do that, we could handle it when we got back in town. When we got back in town we had an automatic renewal letter in the mail so I called him and he said there was nothing we could do about it. We had bought a lake house and moved the boat to the boat house there and the unit sat empty for almost 6 months at $175 a month. We filed a report with the BBB and he fought it of course. Just a bad deal and they were A-holes about the whole thing. So I do my part to make sure everyone knows how poor their marina is ran and hope to let people know what they're getting into before they go there.

Check out Lewisville, there are a lot more chepaer options around there and it's a much more user friendly lake.

Drive a little and save a lot at Lewisville Boat Storage. Not a pretty place but I've been there a year and have had no problems. I have three other friends that use them too.
2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop
        2010 SANTE 230 343 (280hrs)

I live in Coppell, so Grapevine would have been my first choice for storage and lake access. Looked into it and storing in or near Grapevine has very limited options and seemed fairly expensive. For the kind of $$ quoted I would have expected rack type dry storage with valet.

Shopped around a bit and found a great spot in Hickory Creek called King Brothers. www.kingbros.net Just a couple of miles north of Lewisville storage. They have a good selection of unit sizes. Everything from a small gravel floor unit to a 12x32 concrete floor unit. Air and water station on site as well. Family owned and very pleasant to deal with.

Nice access to a public ramp less than a mile as well. Checked the ramp fees and the municipality of Hickory Creek charges substantially less than fees charged in Lewisville. If I remember correctly $3 per launch or $35 / yr in Lake Dallas vs. $10 per launch with a limited amount of annual passes in Lewisville (none available until next September - weird?). My guess is the city of Lewisville is just cashing in on the boat crowd not knowing about the other ramps nearby.

Just my 2 cents. I'll be checking around next season for a few more options and be sure to post if I find a better spot.

Get the concrete floor. Your boat and gear will stay a lot cleaner. Your tires will be happier as well.
