i was leaning towards teh star, until AbunDiga909 TRIED to convinced me to go with teh nautqiue, but but i'm sold on the looks of this mc. A pimp boat means a lot to me and i can't justify whether i will be able to get a pimp cc just as pimp as this mc. i know cc makes the better quality boat--abundiga has shown me that, but its almost all about looks for me!

RE: X-Star
Please, buy the X-Star, I don't even want to touch this one... So I will leave it at, buy the X-Star if thats what is "pimpest" better yet why don't you go buy a Fountain? I don't think that Nautiques are any more quality then the other top 3, sure the fit and finish of the Nautiques are amazing. But so are the Mastercrafts and Malibus. Why should anyone need to "convince" you of anything? Buy what you like and what suits you best... Bottom line, most of us around here like Nautiques but if you like something different go for it. There is no perfect boat for anyone, there is no "one manufacturer to rule them all" quite frankly all of the top 3 boats these days have amazing quality and engineering. In my opinion you can't really go wrong.
Long story short, get what you want instead of getting what other people will think is cool...How about \"Chales\"?

oh god, where do I start. I really used to respect and like Mastercraft boats. That was up until about four years ago when all they started doing was making their boats flashier. I personally think most of their current line is hideous and marketed at non wakeboarders and people that just want the "pimp" boat as you would say. I really think the x-star is way too overdone and when I see one at the lake I think to myself, there is a $80k boat with an owner that doesn't know how to ride. I still do like their boats from the nineties, but they have gone away from that look and style. Nautiques still have that classic look that will never be outdated and they have unparelled quality and performance. You cannot get a better strictily wakeboarding boat then the SAN. Five years from now that pickle fork X Star with the bass boat silver flake will be outdated and you'll be saying to yourself, "****, I wish I listened to Abundiga, his boat still looks great!". Just my .02Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.

a buddy of mine has a x-star.. it is a really nice boat. there are some things to consider,
storage- this boat is the king of storage.
wake- has a tall and wide wake(smooth) but doesnt have the pop at the top
big boat-lots and lots of gas
tower & rack-best in the industry
replacement parts -$$$$$
if you need a big boat than i think it would be a great fit...

I think if he goes with the CC it will prob be a 226, right?
Just to clarify for everyone. I never intended to start a boat war. I just thought it'd be cool if PlanetNautique could work together on this one...
The only convincing I've done is not simply saying how CC makes the better boat for this reason and that. What I DID do was tell him honestly, from personal experience, my unfortunately bad experience with MC, and my honest oppinions from that. I didn't make anything up, I'm just telling him how my friend just got lied to by MC, his dealer forgets to connect hoses in his boat after it is serviced, a lot, and how my friends boat is falling a part. This is all only true stuff...I Nautique, therefore I am.

the only thing i could say is wait till nautique intorduces the new models ( like the 22' 8-)
you do have to give it to mc for the "pimp" or "bling" factor. :???:
btw, what are the differences between the mc and cc dealers ? which one will be there after the sale ? the service and quality of the dealer can make or break the experience....this is a major consideration imo)
would suggest finding owner/owners of boat you are really considering to buy and go out with them (pay as a rider and help clean up) for a ENTIRE DAY -any dealer worth his salt can help you out with this.
you will see how the boat holds up in real life and find out the pros/cons of EVERYTHING..

I guess I rank quality/warranty much much higher than Pimp-ability... for what it's worth, the first thing out of my daughter's mouth when she saw the new SV211 we ordered was "This is pimpin' dad.. the boys are gonna like this!".... I took it as a compliment....2005 SV211

if you drive it, you will see that it doesn't turn well and there is a ton of bow rise with the xstar. The electrical system has a major flaw to it. It isn't big enough to drain/fill all three tanks at the same time. You have to do two tanks and then do the third one after the first two are done. The wake is nice and I know that is why a lot of people buy that boat. The warranty is another big issue. Look at the details of the two. Also, look at the way both boats are constructed. Your Nautique dealer should have a powerpoint show that shows how Malibu, MC and Nautique are made. You will see some big differences right away.

I was at a small boat show today. I think last one of the season. I had a long talk with my MC dealer. He's actually pretty nice to us knowing how much we are for CC...
Anyway, we talked about the 350 engine in the XStar. In conclusion, and these are his words almost verbatim, if you are just cruising around, it will get the job done, but if you want to gun it and have fun, you will be dissapointed. And that is from a guy selling boats that is a rival to ours. We agreed that if you are spending the money already to get a loaded pimp star, you will be disapointed when you want to go out of the hole quickly when you have a crowd on board.
thats coming from a mc dealer, i'd take that seriously...I Nautique, therefore I am.

My CC dealer told me that back in November at the Nautique Dealer meeting in Fla., CC purchased every new model from MC and BU available for 05 for the dealers to drive. He said this was an industry first and that the handling characteristics of CC were far and away superior to anything the competition has to offer. He also said that CC than disected the boats to see how they are constructed. Again BIG DIFFERENCE! I've been skiing for 30 years and for my money there isn't a better boat on the market. To anyone who knows anything about boats, pulling up to the dock in a Nautique is the equivallant of showing up in a Mercedes. MC and BU look great cosmetically but so do Volkswagons.

if you want the ultimate in "bling/pimp" and got $85k and some cash to burn, then i "honestly" think the x-star is for you...
i really like my friends...it is a great ride...where he got hung up with is buying from the wrong mc dealer...also, he says he should have bought
the bigger motor if you have people and run additonal ballast..
i recently went out in a loaded x-2 and that boat was really, really, really fast.. he had changed the prop and it had a the 350...
btw, the differences between the wakes are night and day...

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this comes to mind when I look back at this thread...
Don't judge a book by its cover. Especially an underpowered one.
We all have to face the fact that the star does come out from the factory more pimp, but that doesn't mean cc's can't be pimp. I mean ****, look at grants! That's more pimp than any other star I've seen! And what makes his special is that he customized his boat by himself. Sure he bought the parts, but he put his hard work into his boat by hand. He can actually say "I did this, and this, and this, and this, and that, and this..." When you buy a pimp star, you cheat. You cheat because the boat comes pimp from the factory. And when you get to show it off to your friends, you will be showing off your money, while Grant will be showing off his creativity and effort. Which one is more important?
So Ryan, you agree that you will take this star, and then still have crativity like no one else to do so much crazy stuff to it to pimp it out more. Wouln't you rather take a loaded 226 TE w/ ZR6, and then take that same crativity and make that 226 more pimp than that star? If you have the crativity to do that, which I now think you do, then why don't you so you can end up showing off a hotter boat AND your creativity, oppose to a hot boat and money... Whichever boat you get, it seems like its going to be the pimpest boat on the water. Wouldn't you rather say "I did it!" than "I bought it!"... don't cheat...
Does anybody agree with that? I think I finally made a valid point for once...I Nautique, therefore I am.

i do agree to a certain extent....however....
the x-star, has the interior, gauges, very cool swivel board racks, and a HUGH tower, pickle fork box, hugh storage (biggest i have seen yet for that sized boat), metallic paint ( i like it after seeing it). not to mention the stereo system design is the "best" on any wake board boat hans down ( mc is waaayy ahead of everyone here)
the 226 has the rear transom and is a great boat(hey i have a 211 team)... but nautiques are not known for "MAJOR BLING" from the factory...
btw, the wake on the xstar is HUGH !!!!!! it doesnt have the nautique kick, but it is smooth, tall (about 30" when weighed down) and very wide...
most people who are going to spend that kind of $$$$ will more than likely make the best choice for their situation and likes/dislikes..
