Don't try to fold the xstar tower down on a regular basis. Way too big to deal with and requires tools.
The metallic paint looks nice but I hope no one damages it because it is really expensive to fix.
I can honestly tell you that you will be disappointed in the way that it drives. Even with the MCX engine, you will have to floor it to pull riders up and it doesn't turn well in either direction.

My ****....I just spent 10 minutes typing out what I thought was a well thought out opinion and it didn't post!!!!!!!! Okay.....a quick recap.....

If you are choosing a boat on looks alone and you want flash over classic, your decision seems pretty clear to me.

Personally I think there are MANY other factors that "I" would(did) factor into my decision making. Needed space & storage. Wake and performance. Maybe one of the most overlooked factors.....DEALER. Of course when you are talking about any of the top end inboards, fit and finish is arguemenative.

I love the X-Star and if in your position would be hard pressed not to get it with the 8.1(that is an option correct). I would also make it a Stealth Star and remove all the graphics. But being that I have a very good relationship with my Nautique dealer, if I choose to get a larger boat....it will be a Summerset Houseboat and I'm keeping my SAN..... Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

Is trailering an x-star an issue?

My neighbor was telling me that his brother bought an x-star and he had to have a special permit because of the size of the boat.

          Is that true??

Not true.....or if it is, would be the same with the Tige 22 & 24 V....Supra 24SSV....I am sure the Calabira 23'....the Malibu LSV....every boat with a beam of 100" or more....

He wants to be a pimp, let him get the boat designed for his desire. Go ahead and get the metal flake, add some 22" chrome trailer wheels, maybe they can do the graphics in gold leaf? Tow it with an Escalade on 22" street tires or a Hummer with 24s and a pimp you are...

Does M/C offer a "pimp" stereo? Seems like they should.

A lot of states require a special steps be taken for towing trailers over 8' wide on all rodes except interstates, where they can be 8.5'. Wether or not it gets enforced probably won't be an issue unless there is an accident. Check you specific state regulations.

I may be dating myself here but since when did buying a boat become about the "bling" factor and how "pimped" it is? My God!!! I'd take a stripped down Nautique over a pimped out anything, anyday. Granted I'm an old school slalom skier who likes to wakeboard as well but everytime I see a guy my age(36)or older "bumping" up and down the lake stereo cranked in the flashiest boat possible, I just role my eyes because I know that I'm floating in a quality boat with a style that never fades!! Not only that but most those guys don't know a **** thing about boats anyway and probably mortgaged their homes or took out 15 year loans to buy that boat just so they can act like they have some cash.
