    2008 Titan Tower

Can anyone tell me if there is a trick to lowering and raising the titan towers on the 2007 and 2008 san 210 They seem incredibly heavy and hard to fold. Is it just a two person job? The boats I'm looking at have speakers, racks and bikinis on the towers and I need to be able to fold them by myself. Is this going to be possible? I can't believe I'm not going to be able to buy the boat I've always wanted because of the towers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It's a one man job. I would be surprised if the bikini adds any weight

I have to raise and lower my Titan 2 everytime that I go out and I can do it by myself with no problem. It isn't the easiest thing to do, but it isn't hard either. FWIW, I have 2 Wetsounds Pro 60's, 2 Wetsounds MB8's, 2 Spinner racks, and the Bimini on my tower. Also, key piece to folding tower is the wood brace that Nautique ships the boat with. I carpeted mine so that it doesn't scratch the tower, and it keeps the speakers and tower from resting on my seats and causing the vinyl to indent. Also, shameless plug, but if you are looking for an 08', I do have mine for sale. Good luck and I hope this helps.

I'd say you're going to need the Titan tower option if you want to do it solo. I watched my friend pick up his tower with 4 of the Nautique/Titan 6x9 aluminum speakers/cans + a bimini solo, no problem. He did park with the nose of the boat lower on a hill to do it, but, he also needs to lower and raise his to get it inside his garage.

I have the Titan on my '08 230. I have put it up and taken it down several times on my own. I have (4) Skylon tower speakers and the half with the speakers is relatively heavy, but I can get it lifted. I think you should be able to get it lifted as well.

rugdr, you mention a wood brace that came with the boat for supporting the tower. Mine didn't come with that. Is it a standard option? I've been using a noodle that fits snugly around the downward prongs when I fold it down.

I'm not sure of the model name of the tower that is on these boats but it is not the one that breaks apart at the top that is shown in the video Bevan linked. It looks and functions like a really beefy new dimension tower but I think it is in fact a titan tower. Is there anyway to do it by myself? I very upset such a bad tower design will keep me from getting into a 2007/2008 san. Thanks again and hopefully someone will have a solution.

Actually I'm not 100% sure it's a titan tower. I will try to find a pic. Sorry about the type-os but I'm posting using my phone.

That tower you're describing Knox is the "FCT-1" which was originally on the '07 and '08 210's as "standard" equipment (only tower in '07), and yes it's heavy to fold down, but people have figured ways out around it. Search on here and you'll find some ideas. Either that, or you'll want an '08 or '09 with the Titan tower.

It really wasn't an option at all. When Nautique ships the boat's from the factory, they use that wood "brace" to keep the tower's off the seats during shipping. Then when the boat gets to the dealer, they normally discard the brace or throw them to the side. My dealer kept mine for me, and I am glad he did. My tower has never been on my seats. I went a step further and padded and carpeted the wood brace, so that it wouldn't scratch my tower.

I have an 08 210 with the Titan tower. I raise and lower it all the time by myself, and I have have two Wetsounds Pro-80's and a Pro-485 on it. The key is leverage. I support the weight of the rear bar (where the speakers are mounted, yes it is heavy) and unlock the two thumb screws. The forward bar is light enough to raise and lower with one hand while supporting the rear on my back/shoulder. I sit the front bar down in the wooden piece that others have mentioned that came with the boat from the factory. IMHO, that piece or one like it is a necessity. I have also made a similar support that I lower the rear bar onto that keeps it off the rear seats. I park mine in a standard 7' garage and have about an inch to spare when backing it in.

Pretty sure he means the tower I have. Yes it is a beast but can be done by one provided that you are a pretty strong guy and atleast 5'10. I do it everytime I take the boat out! I have a pair of 485's on it and have to take one off to be able to do it though! Before I had the 485s I had the factory cans and could fold it easy with both of those on it. I do think I would rather have the other tower that breaks in the middle but that wasn't an option. I figuire the older I get I'll have to take both speakers off to lower it! Good luck!
