Where are the riders

Is fall really that busy! I have been trying to get out on the lake the last three weekends but all my friends have other activities; sports, parties and work. I need to get others as hooked on skiing, surfing and boarding as I am. Any suggetions on how to do this? Any addicted people out there that love the cool water and less crowded lakes that the fall brings? Anybody in the DFW area that wants to ride?

i have the same problem here in minnesota...labor day comes and everyone is done...oh well...another month and snowboarding starts!

Yep. Everyone loves the lake til it starts getting chilly.

What I notice is when its a hot day, in addition to a lot of boaters, the sun will generate thermals and bring wind, making chop.

As the weather cools, I see a lot of days with still air (no wind) where the lake is glass, and no boats are out, as we drive past the lake on the way to kids' sports.

We are still out atleast once a weekend. Boathouse is high and dry and ramps are getting hard to come by here on Cedar Creek or we'd be out alot more. My brother in law is on Lewisville atleast once a week. Either in a red and white 210 SANTE or yellow x-star. He's hard to miss he's always atleast twice as high as the tower.

we likely just finished our last ride of the year here in indianapolis. we've basically had the water to ourselves since labor day, but today the water was 50 degrees. generally try to ride until halloween, but the forecast for next weekend is highs in the low 50s and lows in the mid-to-upper 30's. won't winterize the boat until the first or second weekend just in case

And it kills me! I love the social aspect of boating in the summer but when it comes to pure water play it's hard to beat the fall. I just wish I could find others around KC that feel the same way. It is a bit humorous to me that people find boating with a wet or dry suit to be odd but have no issue bundling up to go play in the snow...

We are usually out on Lewisville every Sat and Sun morning. The sandbar that we hit and caused $6K in damage has had us out of commission until this Saturday. We will likely be out at least once a weekend until december to ride on Lewisville. Hopefully no new little suprises are lying just under the surface for me to be the first to find.....Don't think my insurance co. would appreciate it.....

im in the same boat, pun intended. i cant find riders and its not cold. it was upper 80's last week.

1. Lakes here in DFW are low (and especially at Cedar Creek where my SAN is).
2. My tow vehicle got t-boned and the insurance company is still working out whether it was totalled or not.

If not for 1 and 2, I would still be out, and am willing to go out with anyone else in DFW who can find rideable water levels. I just got a Sky Ski and am eager to try it out. I can provide gas money of course.

I've been attempting to put a weekend trip together with my buddies and their desire to ride has diminished. It's killing me because all I want to do is get on the water. It's tough being a die hard when most of my buddies are fair-weather riders. The water may be a bit chillier as we get further into fall, but it is well worth the butter!!!

Over here in England me and my buddies will be riding hopefully until the end of November.
Water temperature is not too bad at the moment just cold on the wind.
We are holding off as long as possible before we dust off the dry suits!
