I don't understand ? "with air dam open have to open two doors"
Isn't the air dam just a piece that slides in between the windshield walk through area?? It isn't actually
Hinged where it's open or closed, but just a slide in or out, right ? So why the need to open two doors?
Maybe you have a couple pics u can share ?

I'm really thinking getting it is the way to go even if as mentioned before you take off the can and assembly brackets, at very least you will have a nice access door to that storage area - am I correct on this??

    Thanks...

The wind dam door is just that, a door. It's opens and closes and it on hinges. In the open position, the door is right in front of the trash can door so in order to throw something away, you need to close the air dam door to open the trash can door. It can be a bit of a hassle, but I am still a fan of the trash can since it is out of the way.

As far as rattling, I have never noticed the trash can or trash can door rattle. However, the air dam door does rattle when I hit larger chop.

In my opinion, I would get the trash can. You are correct in your belief that you can simply remove the assembly brackets and then you'll have great access to that storage area. But I would leave the trash can in for a while to see how you like it. Again, storage space is abundant in this boat. But since I added a couple Fly Highs to my trunk space, I have had to rethink other storage. But I still have more than enough and I have never filled up the storage under the dash/where the trash can is.

I guess maybe that air dam door is different on the 2012 ? As its just a "lucite or gel coat" panel that slides into place, its not on hinges.

Thanks for the explanation, didnt realize on it had been on hinges at some point.....we've definitely decided to add it as an option on our 230, just for the reasons you mentioned...i think there is so much storage on the 230's that the waste can will be great for not having to have the plastic bags all over the boat and whipping around in the wind (as we do now for trash) - and like we said, all else fails, it will be a great access door to the under seat storage.

I think they also need to mount a beer/pop can crusher next to the trash can!

I know this is an old thread but...Can the trash can door easily be added to a 2012 210 if it was not ordered that way originally?

I don’t feel it would be easy . I’m sure you could but would require hinges , and latches and some cutting
