    Tourag for towing Nautique?

Anyone out there tow a pre 2007 SAN (or other mid-sized wakeboard boat) with a Tourag (v6 or v8 gas, not diesel TDI)? I need to replace my totalled pathfinder with another SUV that can tow my 2001 SAN. The tourag has raised my interest.

I know you are looking at the petrol versions. Here is a link to another site where they discuss dynamics and brakes etc. I realise it is the V10 diesel. Worth considering??? http://www.themalibucrew.com/forums/..._1#entry315151

The Toureg V8 will tow your boat without issue. You could also pm J2NH on this one. I believe he's owned a couple of them, and could potentially provide some great insight.

MNSuperAir also uses a Touareg on occasion. Seems to do a good job...

Or you could consider buying an American Built, backed and manufactured vehicle and help your neighbor pay his mortgage.

              Its a VeeDub.

I had one VW and will never have another unless its something like a Super Beetle, classic convertible, or 20 hp bugs from the 40s.
Might could force down a "Thing" if someone gave me a nice one.

buddy has the v10 diesel. its a beast. different obvisouly, but the truck itself seems to handle his 07 vlx like a champ.

and to the few, the OP has a Nautique, arguably one of the best ever created. the dude has taste, hes not gonna go buy american!!!

Is there an American made mid-sized suv that can tow well? I'm looking for something used as my totaled pathfinder was paid off. I also need it to be reliable, which may 86 the touareg as well. I can't do a pickup truck. I'd buy another pathfinder if I could find a used 4x4 in gray, black, or blue, but all I can find are 2wd.

Any thoughts on a Jeep Grand Cherokee... "The Trailer Tow Group includes a Class II receiver hitch, trailer tow wiring harness and Trailer Sway Control+ (TSC). The Jeep Grand Cherokee offers trailer tow capability of up to 5,000 pounds on models equipped with the Pentastar V6 engine or the 6.4L HEMI® V8 engine+. Equip your Grand Cherokee with the legendary 5.7L V8 engine and you're ready for loads of up to 7,400 pounds+."

Jeeps are the one American type that are definitely out. My wife would never let me get a jeep. Her mom had one... nothing but problems.

Don't blame you on that one. My wifes Acura MDX says it could pull my 210 but I wouldnt try it.

You could consider the Chevy Tahoe or the Ford Expedition. I bet they are still bigger then a Pathfinder and the Touareg though.
Go drive them. Like we always say here, test ride it.

Guy from work took his fishing boat with him to test drive mid-size suvs, then bought a Chevy 2500, he's not all there!!
