Toyota fan here. I had a 2000 Toyota Landcruiser with the 4.7 V-8 that I think might be similar to the engine in your Sequoia. The LC gave me 120,000 miles of rock solid pulling power; the only issue was steep hills as a 4 speed (I think) it would strain to maintain highway speed only when going up over our mountain passes (the Cascade range in Western Washington) so when we got the the incline all I would do was ease her down to about 35 - 40 and put on the 4 way flashers, and set her into second gear, and she would just purr right up the hill at about 3,000 rpm (much more comfortable than hearing her scream at 4,200 rpm trying to maintain 60 or 65 mph. Of course we only did that trip for week long vacations so you know the vehicle (and boat) was loaded down with me and 3 passengers, our gear and groceries. Given the load and cargo, the rear end tended to bounce (but not sag) on rough joints in the road, and I just saw some suspension stuff at etrailer . com you can get; but instead we traded her in on a 2011 Sequoia Platinum. Great solid ride at highway speed and good brakes, too. Be sure to do the timing belt at the 90k service interval.
