Advice on installing 2nd ballast pump in 211TE

I have a 05 211 Team EX330 and have dialed in the weight with one sac in the ski locker and one on each side of the engine, each of them about 400lbs. I am using the 2005 Fly High Pro X v-drive sacs which are about 400lbs each full. They use the new filling attachment that does not rely on the waterbed fittings, and they use a raft material which is really tough. They are really nice.

I think the stock ballast system uses a 6 pump setup with non self priming pumps. 3 under the engine that fill the water into the tanks, and one in each tank that empty the water out the side through-hull outlets. I am not sure where they are pulling their water in yet, i have to look at that.

I just got a Jabsco Ballast puppy reversible pump which i am going to use to fill and empty the additional sacs. I have previously installed a system such as this in my 95 SS so i am familiar with this pump and how it works. I have a few questions that those familiar with the 211 configuration may be able to answer.

    1. Where should i fill and drain from? In my 95 i put in a separate pickup for the pump that i filled and drained from. In the 211 I am considering teeing into the existing engine sea water intake, or the stock ballast system water intake. If i can't do this efficiently i will put in another pickup, but i dont want to cut another hole in the bottom unless i have to.

    2. Where is a good place to mount the pump? I am considering putting it near the existing shower pump, and using the same electrical source since they are similar pumps and will never run at the same time.

    3. Where is a good place to mount the switch? Its the big rocker switch with the Fill/Off/Empty positions. It requires about a 1.5"X1" hole somewhere. It would be nice to have it near the driver.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I had the Simer's in my 95, with the 05 211 I really prefer the faster quiet impeller pumps. I would go that route if I were in your shoes, not with the puppy. For the cost of the ballast puppy you could probably buy 4 or more of the Tsunami aerator pumps however, the plumbing is a little more complicated.

See if the rivaldownload guys are still doing pumps? I can't find them on the net anymore.

I plan to add extra bags to my 02 210, I will probably just T into the overflow on the hard tanks to fill the bags in the rear. I will probably use a way Sea-lect valve to divert. Have not figured out emptying yet, but will use those rule 1100 aerators like the stock ones. You can pick them up for 33 a piece from livebaitlarry. If I was adding extra pumps for filling, I would definately tie into the ballast thru hulls above the seacocks. For draining, you could tie into the stock drain ports and add a check valve to prevent flow back into the hard tanks. I will probably add a fill hose for a bow sack as well.

The switch is personal preference. I have an auxiliary on the dash pod and an empty shower one as well, both seem like good candidates for my application.

Funny how wakeboarders spend so much time filling their boats with water.
