    Wake surfing 230??

Just got a 2011 230 . Love to surf! What have you found is the best weight and and where in the boat? (also where do you keep the wakegate?)

Any help would greatly appreciated. Wanted to get a head start on 2012!!!

Congrats on the new boat!! I managed to get an awesome surf wake with port, belly standard tanks full, 750v drive locker sac, 550 on the floor, about 350 on the port side seat, about 200lbs in lead under the port side seats, and about 450lbs with the integrated bow sac, long with 4 guys sitting on the port/back side. Used the hydrogate to clean up the wake if needed. With all this weight, the wake was HUGE and super fun!

Good looking boat. Love the blue tower.

I agree with Johnboyy7. Pics of Proair133's surf wake would be great to see.

As far as surf set-up on my 230, I use stock port or starboard, belly, 800 lbs of pop sacks dispersed more heavily on surf side, plus 400 lb FlyHigh sac in trunk on whichever side we're surfing. I also have an additional 550 lb for the bow and 350 for the floor, but haven't filled them up yet. Most likely will do it in the spring when the water is a bit warmer. I'm pleased with my wake, but I look forward to seeing it with the additional weight.

            Here are a couple pics...

Start of year two with the 2010 SANTE 230. We started surfing this weekend with starboard side factory tank full, center 1/2, 300 lbs lead weight and a new 750 sack in the starboard locker. With only 2 on the boat, the water was almost up to the rub rail before we started. We got about a 3' wave and were all smiles. Can't wait for warmer weather and more bodies in the boat. May look at more sacks too. It was a great opening day for us.

Swankster, any problems with water coming in through the side vents?

Not yet. We had two guys setting in the back corner and all the weight describe above and when running the water line was about two inches from the bottom of the vent. We are doing this only on fairly quiet water.

I can clean it up some with the gate and belly tank and start to get a small curl about 10 to 15 feet from the boat but close to the boat is washed out especially if belly is empty.
