I met him at the 2002 reunion in San Diego, the last one they had in Southern California. At the time I had a boat that the former owner had hacked up and repainted. He came by and asked what I had. I told him the registration said it was a 72 Mustang. He climbed in opened the engine cover and said. This is a 1965 Barracuda. It's the only boat we did in this color (the inside of the cover was original), and that is a Chrysler 318 LM, the best engine we ever put in a boat. We talked for about 15 minutes. What a gracious man. I wondered what the original boat looked like. As we were talking a mint 65 Barracuda pulled in. We both went over and spoke to the owner. What a treat. As we were speaking with the owner Catherine Bell, the actress, pulled in with her brand new rig, a black 210 towed with a black Yukon. Needless to say the memory of that day seems like yesterday, not 9 years ago.Nautiqueless in San DiegoComment
