You have a 5 year warranty on the engine if in fact it is something besides freezing. I had a engine in my truck diagnosed as having leaking heads after a pressure test, and another second opinion indicated a new water pump was needed. I saved at least $3000 on the second opinion.

did you overheat the engine at all last year? That can lead to warpin or cracing intenally or a head gasket as mentioned.

Find an independent mechanic. These are common motors only differing with manifolds and engine controller tuning. You should even be able to have a brand new GM replacement long block installed for $3-4k. There should be nothing wrong with the motor controller, marine pumps, alternator, intake manifold, throttle body, exhaust manifolds, etc. A long block is much less expensive and an adequate replacement for a complete motor. Even a good local professional motor rebuild shop should be able to handle the repair. Again, these are an extremely common motor assembly.

I talked to Customer Service at Correct Craft and they are having PCM contact the mechanic. Was very pleased to hear that. Correct Craft was very responsive when I advised of the problem.
