But no-can-do for those of us with the modern composite platform.

PS - that boat is awesome looking.
I don't really understand why I would want the saver to match the aft most portion of the platform (hard for me to visualize what you are saying). I like the corners because they match the angles of the board underneath it. Different strokes. This was cut based on Teak World's pattern. I smoothed the edges a bit and left well enough alone after that. I did spend an inordinate amount of time stressing over whether I had it properly positioned before drilling though.

One thing I seem to recall realizing during my install that, due to the shape of the transom and location of the rub rail, if you put the transom saver too close to the edge of the platform/transom, you're not going to be able to get the platform off or on (depending where it is when you attach the transom saver.

      Thanks for sharing the picture!
Below is a link to when I first made it. The pics are not showing up for some reason though. There is a small write up in there.

My suggestion was hard to say in words...but the pic Dave just put up is exactly what I meant.

Dave - your pics were put up in an older software version. Jeff has to migrate old photos one by one and has only done so on case-by-case basis.

If they have value, let Jeff know and he can get them or you can re-post them. They are probably still in your online library/cache for lack of proper term.

His pictures don't show up here (at work) for me. Some photo hosting sites are blocked.

Looking at his description of the labor though, he has tools that I don't ... and, possibly, patience.

OK- so here's the real question - - what do us guys do that have the newer boats with the composite platforms - (other than the 3M tape) - - as I really like the "small lip" idea like in the pic Dave posted - very classy and tasteful look and I'm guessing it works very well.....

We almost need same sort of shape done in the silver cloud composite material with areas of the grey or teak or the front facing side to match up with the teak / grey areas on the platform - - - hey theres a business idea for us - My concept, now who can produce it ??

Okay, now I see it. Yes. Very nice looking, Dave!

Similar contours to what I had on the transom saver Gman gave me for my old MasterCraft.

You could do what I did on my '03 with basic tools. Not that hard.

Here is a shot of my 2010 with the 3M film.

Dave, at this point, that thing is screwed to my platform and I'm not taking it off. Looks good enough for me.
