Getting back on the water

hi all , im looking to get back out on the FRESH water and on a budget as I also have another boat that needs plenty of attention/$$
i ski barefoot wakeboard about equally and need an all around boat
have been looking @ older nautiques , 2001s to a 1996 19'6 and a few inbetween
will the wake behind a 19'6 be ok or is it better for slalom/flatter ?

also i found this boat, HOURS from me but the dealer isnt answering too many questions, can anyone identify this model for me ??

That's a 1996 Ski Nautique. Looks quite similar to the '94 I used to have (see the link in my sig. below). That tower and those graphics are obviously not original.

Yes 1996 but the dealer isn't giving me much to go.on says its a 19, must be counting the teak
Good price but I'm told I should go bigger
How is the wake behind them ?

If that boat is under 10K, I would really go check it out. It should be in the 12-14 range in clean condition. I might save a bit longer. Here is a sweet little ride I have been watching. Might pick up a classic.

just an observation but in looking at other boats/models/years can someone tell me if the 176 has a 2 piece windshield and the 196 have a 4 piece ?? in the years 94-97 ???

maybe the only reason to get a 176 vs 196 is if you want to store it inside your appartment

The boat you posted has a windshield that swings open like an open bow boat would have, optional on the closed bow boats. Have you confirmed if it is a Ski or a 176?

Never skied a 176 but from what I understand the slalom wake is really great, which of course is true of the Ski's as well, particularly from 97' and beyond. As far as wakeboarding sometimes a smaller hull can create a better wake, so it's possible the 176 could actually be a better boat then a ski in that regards.

yes i have a '90 sport in my area in perfect cond for under 10 k as well but would rather get newer if possible... unless the sport model is more desired ??

what year was the gt-40 motor introduced ?? as an option or standard ??
