As a newbie, I am not sure if this is acceptable or not, but I am looking to purchase a 211 TE and want to know what people have paid and if the quote I am receiving is good.

    Here are the details:
    $54K before tax

    PCM 5.7L
    Bimini
    Bow Filler Cusion
    Cooler w/ access door
Dripless Packing Gland - what the heck is this?
    Flip up Drivers Seat
    Pull Out Cleats
    Rear Pylon
    Removable Stearn Seat
    Tow Cover
    DMV registration
    Freight and Prep
    Trail-Rite 211 Painted

That price is right in the ball park. The dripless packing gland replaces the wax rope that is otherwise used on the shaft to keep water from entering the boat where the shaft comes through the hull. This is maintenance free for life. I would definately get it. You don't want to try to access the shaft packing down the road when it gets worn out. It is a PITA to access.

That's a very good price considering the options you have listed there. You may also want to factor in either the additional upgrade to the Team stereo (add 2nd sub and tower speakers) or factor in approx. $2K for aftermarket parts and installation. Also be sure to load up that trailer with the spare and the breakaway tongue if you need them.

Doesn't the Team Stereo come with the Team Edition package? It comes also with the CC Flight Clips if I am not mistaken....

The team package comes with the flight clips and a sub and the bigger amp. Tower speakers are an option.

If you are ordering it save the $350 on the cooler access door. You basically get a $20 cooler and a flip down door in the walkway into the storage. I dont see any purpose for it except to vent your sub. It also causes the amps to be mounted on the hull since they can't be mounted where the door goes.

Looks pretty good, make sure that's a tandem trailer, I think the 211 is too heavy for a single. The 211's are selling fast I would expect few deals the closer we get to summer.

I looked at the Malibu VLX over the weekend, and I must say that I really liked that boat...Price was also cheaper (not that it is the most important feature)...

I know this is a Nautique site and I am a Nautique owner, but what opinons do you guys have on the VLX...

Have your CC dealer show you the powerpoint that shows how the top 3 boats are constructed. That ought to sway you a little bit!

loaded vlx is about the same as a 210 or 211, about $55k, not sure about the new Ride model though. if you want a bigger boat go for the vlx, you get a bit more size for the money. i ride in a 04 vlx quite often and its a good boat. with the 900lbs factory ballast + wedge + additional 1000lbs it throws a similar wake to the 211. also good boat for surfing. personally i dont like the titan tower or how they have speakers on the dash area blaring in the drivers ears. i put a towel or sweatshirt over them if i am driving. i just like the correct craft quality and attention to detail so i stick with nautiques, malibu would be my 2nd choice though.

I was going to buy the Malibu but the 211 drove sooo much better I couldn't do it. Stick with what you know, that's what I did and I am happy with my decision.

was out on a friends 05 vlx recently...really nice boat and nice wake..

a lot will depend on what is important to you (though i own a nautie 211, i think i can still be objective..)

the vlx and vride will be bigger boats (that is the major selling points of malibu.. the 05 vlx is a really BIG boat with lots of storage and a nice rampy wake.

i confess i am not that partial to the vride..by the time one adds everything up ( ballast, wedge, pp, monsoon motor, etc...) you are within $1k to $3k of a compareabley equipped 210 or 211.. not to mention, the interior of the v-ride is much cheaper in quality than the vlx..so the v-ride doesnt glide imo...

the 210/211 are slightly smaller boats ( the 210 is slightly longer. the 211 is wider and has a slighlty bigger feel to it ( the rear transom and the ski locker is AWESOME !!! .... please note it seems like you are sitting high when the boat is on the trailer... this goes away when the boat is in the water... the nauties handle a little bit better and have a tighter feel ( my opinion)..also, the wake of the 210 is very, very steep, with a kick....the 211 has a smige less pop at the top than the 210.

would suggest taking a test drive and pull in both boats AND going out as a rider with owners for a full day ( pay them $20-$30, bring food, and help clean up) . most owners run additional wieght to the factory weight., you will have a pretty good idea of what the boats are like after that..

the quality of the dealer is also important... check with the local owners and wakeboard shops....

                        hope that helps...

                          btw,

if you do go with a bu, i would go the vlx otherwise 210, 211, or the new top secret 22' that will come out next month.

After much deliberation, testing, and dealer visits, I decided on the SV-211 TE....

After seeing all the boats, I just kept coming back to Nautique...The VLX was a close second, but that is where the dealer came in...The Bu dealer in So Cal is so small and I know the people at Nautique...

I have 2-3 weeks to pick the colors and finalize the accessories. The boat should be here around the middle of May...
