New PTM Edge Mirrors

Spent another day on the lake today constantly pushing my factory mirror (deluxe mirror upgrade - he says sarcastically) back up and into place every bump and wave we hit and anytime I took the boat over about 32 mph.

Every allen screw is tightened to the absolute max possible and the Da** thing still falls down....Very disappointing...I emailed my dealer and they forwarded a video I took of it falling down to correct craft to see what factory wants them to do....be interesting hear the outcome.

It does look like Jeff went with the PTM mount, I was able to use the mount I had my Cipa on.

The mount for the upgraded factory mirror works fine with the PTM Edge mirrors. The mount for the standard factory mirror, which is what my boat came with, requires an adapter from PTM Edge. The part of my mount that connects to the windshield is the factory Cipa mount. The rest is the PTM Edge adapter.

Here is the PTM mirror with the CIPA Extreme Mount.

On the want list! You can get an adapter from Monster to mount the Cipa or looks like the PTM mirror to the CC tower arm.

Does it actually stay "up" and in place when you are going 35 mph or hit a few waves ? unlike my wonderful, awesome, fantastic (he said with complete sarcasm and frustration) factory "deluxe mirror" on our 230.

Yes, these stay in place quite well.

Yes, it's rock-solid. I live in an area that can get quiet rough and windy and have made a few long hauls with it in very rough conditions. Seems bullet proof to me.

Only caveat being it was a little tricky mounting it to the stainless windshield. The first time out when rough it vibrated loose but I quickly realized it was installer (i.e., me) error. It took some finessing but once I got the bracket fitted properly, it's been great.

Not sure I completely understand. I have the "premium upgraded mirror with extension" on a stainless upgrade windshield. Do I need to purchase the ZXR pivoting windshield mount or will the mirror attach to the Nautique mount?

That i really can't say. I got the upgraded mirror from CC but it's still in the box so I'm not sure how well the PTM will work with the upgraded factory mount. My thought was there must be a reason why PTM has a different mount from what CC offers so I went with it. It's very easy to use and like I said, is rock solid. You'd think i get a commission but I know how much I appreciate honest feedback--good and bad--about these products we're thinking to buy.

Just a quick reply to this from a slalom skier's perspective. I don't spend much time checking the mirror in the course, but from brief glances, this mirror is truly ball-to-ball. Pretty great!

That's the best review yet, for me. Makes me want one now, but dang they're buck$!

Yeah, I thought I had it adjusted slightly off center because I had so much view (given my driving position) of the port side turn buoys. But I glanced up just as the skier went around the 3 ball and saw the whole thing.

Yes, pricey. But I had the CIPA Extreme mount already. So I saved a few bucks and made a few more when I was eventually able to sell that mirror without the mount.
