'06 SAN 220 - upgrade to new graphics or do a full wrap?

Tired of the '06 Decal on our SAN 220 and want to upgrade to the newer Chromax decal.

    http://orlandonautiquesparts.com/90suairnadec.html

Roughly $700 for both sides. Going to guess labor rates will be for 1.5 hour a side (what I was quoted from Orlando Nautiques). I'm not too enthusiastic about doing it myself simply because I'm super OCD and if I mess up, it's on me. Rather have the shop take responsibility for it. I'll guesstimate about $300 for labor.

A full wrap is going to be b/w $1300-1800 depending on who does it, and what I have done.

In your opinion, are the decals overpriced? Should I just suck it up and do the installation myself? Is it THAT difficult?

You could also just do the SUPER AIR NAUTIQUE in chromax with no griffin. I just saw a pic of an all black 210 with just that on it and it looked SICK!
When im tired of my griffin, ill be doing exactly that. WIll be much cheaper too. I saw it on the minnesota boat show thread on wakeworld.

The cost on the Chromax decals alone (W/O the griffin) is $346.00 for each side. Thats still $700 for both.

Oh - are they trying to tell you that just the chromax decals will take 6-8 hrs? If so, theyre TRIPPIN! Mine did the full griffin & lettering in 4. Its possible theyre mistaken & think u mean the full set?
If its just the chromax - u can do that yourself... i wouldnt touch that griffin wrap though.

White Lake has them for $337, and that is BEFORE the 10% PlanetNautique discount!

ID:	363310I did this just last year. I'm pretty OCD about the appearance of my boat and while it did take me a lot of checking and rechecking before I got the nerve to remove the backing and actually adhere the new decals to the hull - it was well worth the time. The removal of the old logo is the most labor intensive part. I used masking tape to mark the center of my old decal before removing it, then peeled most of it off with the help of a hair dryer. Mineral spirits removed the remaining residue, followed by buffing with 3M Perfect-It Rubbing Compound.

It took probably two hours per side to remove and buff. Followed by an hour of measuring-taping-stepping back-looking...measuring-taping-stepping back....you get the idea. (and yes I did get the new logo from White Lake - they simply had them drop shipped from the factory)

                      Nice job MikeC !!

I was thinking of upgrading my 2005 graphics as well but too much going on this year (wetsounds system, new prop, fresh air exhaust) with the boat so I'll wait for next year if I decide to do it. Once again, that looks great!

I'm considering just getting rid of the decal all along. The '06 decals just look played out. I've been photoshopping it w/o the decal's and it just looks so clean. Is this pretty common? Thoughts?

                            Mike,
                            This looks awesome!!!
I am in the process of doing the exact same thing with mine right now.. mine is red... were you able to buff/ sand out all the markings from the old decal??..

I am having a bit of trouble with mine.. sanded a lot with heavy grit . Pretty good, but can't get rid odd it 100%...I just afraid of what it will look like once I install chromax and still a bit showing...
