Python Engines: Can you check the hours independently from the hour meter guage?

Wanted to verify this statement:

The Python motor has a port (similar to OBDII) that can verify the engine hours, among other details about the engine.


Believe that's not the case with the 5.8L.

Yes on the Python engine as it is a GM based engine with a Delphi based ECM, you need a program and cable like Diacom not one used for automobiles. Diferent style plugs than a automotive and different programming.
