    230 with a 343

Does anyone know how well a 230 does with the 343 engine? Has anyone been in one really loaded down? Possibly just a reprop would make it perform about as good as the 6.0 Liter engine.

I have that set-up and am happy with it. I weight it down a fair amount, stock ballast and some lead tubes.

Good thread link. I have most def had 2-3K in extra weight and people in the boat and thought it did fine. To me, I am not a fan of the 6.0 litre with the closed cooling. IMO there is more maintenance involved, and it seems as those with closed cooling always run hotter, which again IMO, heat is an enemy of a motor. I understand you have to have a certain temp for the engine to perform well and have proper combustion.
To me it was not worth the extra $$$$.
