Sea Deck Improvement on 09' 230

Here's a pic of my 230 platform. Just picked it up from Nautiques of Orlando. They did an excellent job. Go see Ed there or give him a call (407) 425-2628. This is far better than the old Sano and worth the cost. This is so much more comfortable on your feet, looks better, and should last a good long while.

The Camo piece that you see is something I added awhile back to prevent board dings.

I'm debating it as well, my Nautique salesman is still on the fence about it and he's VERY honest to my family about what he sells us. He's seeing fin rips and holes. Anyone else seeing these on a boat that been in use for over a year?

i have 7 of the 5.5" hot buttons from Sea Deck to protect the hull from board dings where you have the camo strip. i also have them placed atop the gunnels from the trailing edge of the windshield aft and at the very nose of the bow to provide traction during ingress/egress. the size allows you to place them wherever and create patterns without it looking low rent. at $1.95 per, i bought 20 of them for traction/protection on my 230, and had some to spare.

on another note regarding your one strip that goes from side to side: it will cause the gel coat to blister if and WHEN any water is able to seep in and behind it. i had gator grip in the same place on a 220 i owned. i removed the gator grip when the boat sold it only to find blisters [up to a BB in size] in the gel coat. your boat appears to be black in that area, so keep that in mind. blisters in the gel coat are actually not uncommon where the boat sits on the wet trailer bunks. what about your 5 year "bumper to bumper" warranty, you ask? CC only warranties the gel coat for 3 years for freshwater boats and one year for coastal edition boats (reference page W2 and W6 of the 2011 manual, respectively), effectively making the gel coat outside of the bumper, hahaha. forewarned is forearmed...

Well I guess if it can make it in a kids camp it shouldnt be a problem for my drunks.

I actually used the same exact strip of camo (well not this exact one) but the same material from the same roll and had it on a 05 SAN for several years. When I sold the boat there was no damage under the pad. I do know that wet bunks can occasionally cause a little minor blistering. I think the wider the bunk, the more chance of this happening.

As far as the Sea Deck longevity, I have talked to individuals that have seen the product on ski school boats, and have seen little wear. I want to say that someone told me one boat that had 800 hrs on the material was showing minor wear.... At 800hrs, whats not going to show wear?
