    Prop help

i have a 2003 SANTE 210 with i am sure a factory prop (bought the boat used) and i hit a stump trolling back to pick up a rider. i have attached some pics and wonder if i can get someone to bend it back or if i should upgrade to a new prop.
I ride with factory balast and additional 250lb in front and 550lb in back when wakeboarding. i add another 250lb when surfing.

Any suggestion on where to get prop blade fixed in DFW area or what pitch prop i should get based on how i ride.
    thanks

Is it an Acme prop? Do you know the current diameter and pitch? Was it performing well before you hit the stump? I know Acme has some kind of a special template for pounding them back in place. Either Acme themselves or Delta should be able to steer you in the right direction. Often times the model number and pitch will be on the little collar of the prop, that goes around the shaft. It's sometimes partially covered by the nut. If you feel that you want a few more RPMS and a little more hole shot, drop your pitch slightly. Although, it looks like your current one should be repairable. It's not majorly torn or anything.

If you do decide to go with a new prop at some point, here is a good discussion:

          http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...ight=1236+prop

Stock on your boat is the ACME 644. Most guys running 2K+ of extra ballast above stock ballast are going with the ACME 1236 or 1464. These props are great for the holeshot on a sacked out boat but you give up a considerable amount of top-end (~10MPH, maybe more). I had your same issue last year and decided to stick with the 644. With what we do and the ballast we run (stock + ~1K), it is the best all around prop for us. All depends on your needs.

You can probably have it repaired back to factory specs for $100-$150. I know there are many small welding shops around that will attempt the repair but if you want it fixed right the first time send it to Coastal Prop in Florida, don’t waste your time if they don’t offer computer tuning. Coastal Prop will computer analyzed before and after the repair and guarantee accuracy and balanced to ISO “S” class. If your local welding shop can offer ISO Class “S” then go for it, if they don’t know what you mean I would send it to someone who does.
