    Air Dam???

    1. We are getting the jump seat for it, is the slide-in air dam worth the money?

    2. What brand of trailer should we get? We are looking at a RamLin or a Phoenix. We are used to the Mastercraft trailer. We love how well it lines up the boat.

    Thanks in advance!
If you're worried about air flow thru the open bow... why don't you just buy the closed bow??? Safer and drier...

Good point, I do get a lot of water over the bow with less experienced drivers. As for the jump seat, I am never sure when to take it and when to leave it home. I always use it when it's a "ski" day or it's cool and I have the dam in. It it's a normal family day on the lake I usually leave it home to make getting to the bow easier...but no one has complained either way.

Thanks again for the help. We already ordered the boat. We figured we didn't need the air dam. We had one in our old boat. Never used it once.

To be fair... We usually ski/boat from the dock and don't need the additional space of an open bow. Personal preference from a comfort/safety standpoint... just my 2 cents... To each his or her own...

Unless they have changed the design I will suggest one mod to the jump seat. As delivered, the air flow through the walk way would blow the seat back on the jump seat down if no one was sitting there, drove me nuts. I drilled a hole in the hinge plate for a pin that can easily be installed and removed to fix this problem. I can get a photo if anyone is interested .

Phoenix is an awesome trailer and is built in MI. That's what we got with our 2011 200V. Congrats on the new boat!

Is your dealer and or lake close to where the boat will be kept? I prefer tandem axles if any distance is involved. . if your tow vehicle is in good shape and size I do not think discs are needed, but are easier to maintain. I'd call any available trailer mfg. and ask what the ground clearance of the prop guard is relative to the trailer tongue being at proper height.

Congrats on your new baby!! We have a 2007 SN 206 and keep it on LK. George not far from you Clear Lake marine is a great place have been there many times, reguarding the air dam you can always add it later and for the trailer Phoenix makes a nice unit we bought a top of the line Trailmaster and it has been a good trailer we have put on 1500 miles on average a year. not sure what the cost is of the Phoenix but the Trailmaster was close to $3000. Good luck with with what ever you get and enjoy.

I wonder if they changed the design in 2012? It takes some decent effort to lower the backrest on the jump seat in his boat. Of course, maybe it'll loosen up over time, and we'll need to modify it like yours?

I meant we are on Clear Lake. We looked at a place on Lake Pleasant. That was a stupid mistake.

I think I looked at a Stars and Stripes MC last summer on the north side Lake Pleasant. Left turn into a corn field on a dirt road somewhere just past the Michigan border and suddenly there are little cottages.
