      Lowering tower

I just traded in a 2000 Super Air for a '05 226 Team. The FCT tower on the 2000 with no speakers was light compared to the new tower on the 226. I don't even have speakers on the new one and it is Noticably heavier. It doesn't look higher when you look at the boat, in fact the tower looks lower then my 2000 because the sides of the 226 are higher. The tower geometry is different in the fact the the swing angle makes it harder to reach for some reason. The first time I had to fold it down, I learned a little trick. Take your jumpseat if you have one, position it right it the walkway to the front. Stand up on the clamshell observer's seat, grab the tower with two hands, step over to the jumpseat, then step to the front seat as the tower lowers. I have not put it back up yet but I think it will work OK in reverse. I'm 5'6" and I cannot throw it over like I did my 2000 FCT and slowly lower/raise it. I need to raise and lower by myself sometimes and the "seat walk" trick seemed to help. I'll post some pictures of the new 226 soon.

        Re: Lowering tower

I went to my dealer to measure a 226 tower when folded down and it's to high to fit into my garage, sucks!
