What is too much on a tower?

I remember last summer some boats that have the usual tower speaker box, lights and a bimini.
Now I see people putting on a rope winder, flashing lights, disco balls, fog machine, 6 board racks, etc.

When do you think it gets to be too much?

I agree, way overkill. I even think most of the speaker setups are getting a bit out of hand.
Ummm, I\'ll take the REAL 210 please. Thanks.

Can't wait for the drop down shower/changing room like on the back of pontoon boats. Maybe even add a head under the observer seat too!

Like the MC X-80? I think there's a Malibu as well.

Are you talking about weight or stuff? I would have to say that yes to both.
I think with these speaker systems that are up to 50lbs or more are imposing some undo stress on the deck, not the tower but, the deck. Once you put some weight up there, the tower tends to want to move back and forth. The tower being a pretty rigid structure is now flexing the deck. I'm not surprised we're not hearing about people with stress cracks on their decks.
Second. Yes, some people are going overboard with all the stuff mounted up on the tower. Granted I do have a bunch of stuff on mine, 4 board racks, flag holder, bimini and speaker box. The tower has turned out to be a good storage system.

Whatever makes the boat owner happy. I plan on having tower speakers and a bimini. I do not want to over load my tower.
Is there a wieght limit on the tower? Will it void your warranty if you have too many things up there?

                    All,

Last year i ran across a picture of a "diving platform" on a tower. Dont think it was here! Usual disclaimer....just dont start the activity with "You'll watch this", it makes a lousy obituary.

And lets not forget the tower lounge!

I hope the guys in that last pic are using good spectra line. Otherwise I'd hate to be sitting there when a cheap poly line snaps back.

Seems like it would have just been easier to buy a V-drive if he needed more seating, or even a open bow, that one looks to be closed judging from the passengers seat.
