Help me change the upholstery design of my sun deck (91 BFN)

I am in the middle of a re-upholstery project for a 91 Barefoot Nautique. I really want to change the sun deck to something to add the red and black vinyl that is going to be in the interior of the boat. I also want to get rid of the stock pleats that are on the original sun deck cover, but to do that I want to break it up so it's not one massive piece of vinyl.

Here's a blank "canvas" of what I am dealing with (I photoshopped the pleats out of the picture on the deck)

Here are some designs I have come up with so far. Nothing that I am a huge fan of so far.

I am avoiding looking to modern. There's a lot of ideas I see on new boats I like, but I don't want to be trying too hard to make a 1991 look like a 2011.

Does anyone have any ideas to try out? I can do my best to convert your suggestions into an example in photoshop, or you can try to MSPaint something on that blank shot of the deck.

i think that first one you did looks good, with the stripes running from the corners to the pole ...

I would throw some thick racing stripes on there. Two fat red stripes separated by a single black stripe right down the center. Simple and classic look. IMO, something should be in the center of the deck to break up the solid neutral gray.

You might try solid thick stripes but off to the side sort of like your seat tops.

If you boat in a lot of sun though I'd hate to ever sit down on that black!

It's an old boat with straight stripes just like that observer seat. I would do them straight and thick, front to back, on each side.
You could always have them put NAUTIQUE or CORRECT CRAFT across it like THIS

I like the above pic, but even thicker stripes. The side of the hull is red, so maybe more red. I also like a swirl kinda like the 05 SAN back deck.

I just realized that the stripes aren't symmetrical. haha. I just copied them over so the black is on the left on both in the picture.

Also, try it on just one side and leave the other white.

like the seat top from the left red then black.

I think this is a good idea (not trying to be too modern). Too often, people try and turn their boat into something its not! If you want the advice of some like-minded Correct Craft guys, you may want to pose this question over on CorrectCraftFan.com as well.

I cant see the pics, otherwise I would chime in with my 2 cents as well.
