    Factory Delivery

Hello all. Does anyone know if you can take delivery of a custom-ordered Correct Craft at the factory? I live in MD but have family in Orlando. The boat is scheduled to be completed in mid-April (too early to use it up here) but I'd love to take delivery of it in Orlando and spend a few days on the Butler chain.

    Thanks.

I know that my dealer has flown down to assist somebody taking delivery at the factory. Not sure if you can do it solo.

Yeah, compared to the old place on Orange Ave, the new factory is like Fort Knox.

Where is your trailer coming from? If not ramlin, you may have to drag the empty trailer down with you.

Good point about the trailer and one I've addressed with my AD. Boat will be on a Phoenix aluminum I-beam my AD has made specifically for Nautiques. No problem for me to drive down with the empty trailer. Just hoping I can get some nice FL lake time while it's still 50 degree water up here.

if a factory delivery is a problem, maybe a backup plan would be a delivery to the local dealer?

I'm willing to bet Correct Craft with do back flips to help you out in anyway they can. I would consult your dealer and see what they can set-up. They would have to do it, CC will of course not let a boat off the lot without the dealer ok, plus the dealer has some prep work they do before you drive off in it. That might be your only problem.

I figured the prep would be the issue. A friend up here suggested I look into having it delivered to the Orlando AD but my first thought was "why would another AD want to do all the prep and delivery for free and for a client unlikely to buy from it in the future. I'll see what my local dealer can do. And I guess if I have no problem driving down to FL with an empty trailer I should be just as able to drive down with a new boat on it, too.

I met a guy who drive down from Montreal this fall to pick up his boat from the factory. He stopped by in Tampa on his way home for his kids to ski in a tournament.

Trailering without a boat on the trailer sucks. Even a tandem. If you are picking it up, why not get a ram Lin and just bring the boat back that way?

Thanks guys. I live in Annapolis off the Chesapeake Bay. Brackish water and my AD has told me other trailers just don't hold up well. Before buying my last boat (2010 SANTE 210) i looked at a local pre-owned 2007 and the boat was in good shape but the trailer was rusting out. That being said, my trailer has never been in anything but fresh water (currently keep our boat in a boatel that loads it on and off our trailer when we take lake trips) so it's not out of the question but I think it's probably worth the option to know I can drop the trailer in my local water and know it won't get trashed.

If your trailer is not galvanized it's not going to last in brackish water at all. Probably rust inside out. My galv ram lin looks basically brand new and it's a 2006. Aluminum will be great for brackish too, but if it's any lighter than galv. Then it's going to bounce the whole trip.

To haul the empty trailer, figure out the weight of the trailer and let the tires down to a pressure that matches that load on the pressure versus load chart for that tire rating. You might be able to let them down to 35 or 40 lbs instead of 65.
