    FCT towers

i have a 2005 196 closed bow that i am going to need to add a tower to gain some space with all the gear. contacted new dimensions about a FCT copy and he has no plans yet for a 196 or 205 deck.
i could drive my boat to him (600 miles) and have one fit or go with a universal like mike seipels one from the footers edge. I seem to like the looks of that one plus it has built in board racks overhead.

any suggestions would be helpful. I am not going to buy a different boat, this one is paid and fits the budget and is also in perfect condition. until i drill holes in it of course.

I believe you used to be able to order one through CC's service parts department. They may still be able to order one from their supplier.

Haven't you ever heard of the saying "Friends don't let friends put towers on closed bow ski boats"? Good luck in your tower search, I too like the BI towers on some boats.

Agreed, get a pylon with a board rack is my suggestion. closed-bow boats look so much better w/o towers IMO. But it's your boat and ultimately your decision. You should be able to get a good amount of money for that '05 and then trade for a sport or SS. That's what I did!

There is a 2008 or 2009 196on our lake that has a ND mini tower on it....you could go that route. It looks pretty cool. Contact Matt at Travis marine in Knoxville to get the details. He is an outstanding trick skier, and that is why he has the tower. matt@travismarine.com is his email.
