Info on 2001-2003 Super Air Nautiques 210

Hey, so I've been looking to upgrade for years and have been looking at a few Super Air Nautiques lately. I'm aiming for 2001-2003. I've been riding behind a 1988 Ski Nautique 2001 all my life and the boat just doesn't even come close to cutting it. I've been doing a lot of research about these boats but it's hard to find some stuff, especially what I'm looking for...

First, what are the factory ballast specs?

My major concern is the wake. I know the belly ballast tank is only paired with the Team Editions but I've read on a few posts on forums that people have ended up removing the tank anyways because they are able to fit a large sack that weighs much more in the belly storage space. Is this true? If this is the case, then I'm not going to really focus on finding a Team Edition.

For the rear, I've read about the wedge tanks (Team Edition) and the normal tanks. My biggest concern is the storage space available beside the engine in the storage compartments. I know for a fact that the factory ballast alone isn't going to cut it and I'm going to be adding bags back there. But I have no idea how big these compartments are and what they're capable of holding.

I'm looking to get some pics of the storage compartments in these boats so I can get a better understanding of what I'm looking at. I really appreciate anybody's help!

**Also, anyone in the Northeast looking to purchase a beautiful blue 1988 Ski Nautique 2001 that has been completely rebuilt during the spring of 2007 (including a new engine), contact me.**

I know the factory "Team" ballast for 2003 was 820 lbs according to the brochure. 2 - 250 tanks in the rear and 320 in the belly. I've been running Fly High "wedge" sacs in the rear and a v-drive sac in the bow along with 225 lbs of lead under the very front bow cushion since 2003. Factory pumps and tanks just piggy-backed by the sacs. Sure there are better ways, or faster ways of doing it, but this works for me. Just do a search and you will find many different systems people have built over the years.

The rear comartments are big enough to hold a medium size surfboard, a couple of wakeboards, or a correctly placed ski in my experience. I trailer all the time, so space was a necessity. I ended up taking out the rear wedge tanks because I could get one board in there and it was very difficult to get it in there. Now I can fit all my equipment in there no problem. As far as the center tank, I still have mine in place. After redoing my ballast system, it will be plug and play to change out so no problem when the time comes, but it is trye you can get a 580 belly sack in there easily.

For reference, I have a 2003 team edition. I could get some pics at some time soon if you are really needing them.

As said, just do a search on ballast installs and you'll get plenty of pics and responses about storage and weighting.

Great, thanks for the replies guys! Any chance anybody has any pictures of their interior set ups? Thanks in advance!

Also, I've read that Correct Craft dropped the floor an inch or two on the 2003 or 2004... Does this really make the boat more spacious? Or is it more of just a cosmetic change? Again, I have never been inside of an older Super Air, so I have no point of reference. Thanks!

Also, is anybody using this Fly High Pro X Series Additional Ballast System in their SAN?

I'm up north in Mahwah, but I occasionally ride on Lake Hopatcong. Any chance that you (offshorejay) work at off shore marina in Branchville? If so, you guys did all the work to my 2001 back in '07.

What's the story on the 2004's? One just came up for a deal that's too good to pass up... Much the same as the '03? or different?

Rex, I have a 2002 Super Air Nautique (not the team edition) and the wake is good with factory ballasts but the storage to the left and right of the engine are terrible with the factory hard ballasts. Most of the time we run with the factory ballasts and the wake is big enough for any trick you want to pull. We also have Fly High wedge sacks 280 lbs each, 1000 lb bow sack, and 750 lb sack which we use to build a "super-wake". While the super-wake is fun and boots people skyward we rarely find a a need for the super-wake other than entertainment. We do sack up for wakesurfing. Hope that helps.

The floors got lowered in 2002 and the wrap around seating was gone, 03 the new dash and gauges along with a new interior pattern. The ballast also got manual cable valves added allowing to control the flow of water from the dash and each tank was controllable with there own fill/ drain button. 03-05 are essentially identical with the exception of the ugly tower on the 04 . 03 was also the first year of the composite swim platform. In 2006 the hull remained the same but many upgrades/changes were made including new tower and better ballast with jabsco pumps, the big change was the vdrives which made the prop turn left! 07 marked a total redesign!

2002 is basically the half 01 half 03 half 02 lol the interior is all its own, the dash is that of 01, the floor is that of 03+ it also marks the first year of a team edition. Also the late model 02s had the Excaliber PCM 330 engine. One thing a lot of people may not know is the 02 is the only year with no side blower vents, as it's in the back on top of transom, I love this as all the others on the side take on water when heavily weighted to the side for surfing!
