My boat doesn't fit into your poll. I used to fly up and down the river in a fat jet boat....and BTW it's for sale if anybody knows someone who, well, this is the wrong audience. 8-)

TylerO, Sorry for the omission. For the sake of the poll, would you mind joining the prestige runabout group?

Redelf, seeing pix of your boat sure reminds me of my 83, it's a keeper. Did you ever install the electronic ignition? That was the best thing I ever did to that boat.

Mikeski & skiinxs: How is that you guys get ski boats every year? Are you guys connected? 8-)

The 82 SN is totally original with a bimini and new (but not better) horn. Wait a minute. I had to replace a floorboard, driver's and observer's seat skins and the carpet. But the engine is original with about 1600 hrs. For me, it's the next best thing to having a classic wooden boat.

Well, the results are in! 40 to be exact. So what conclussions can we draw from this poll?

                        1) 64% of us have been in the waterski world for at least 2 boat purchases.

                        2) CC has gained market share from 22% of us (that says nothing about how many previous CC owners left for other ski boat companies)

                        3) But CC did get at least 20% of us as new customers!

                        4) 20% of us were smart enough to buy a CC as their first boat.

                        5) But in the end...no matter where we came from, we all made the right decision eventually, even Skiinxs. And in Mikeski case, over and over again!

Someone should post this exact poll on BU and MC forums....any volunteers?

Promotional boats from 72-83, take it to tournaments in return for discount on new boats every year, huge PITA. Just when you get the new boat bugs worked out you start all over again.

Funny it was actually my dad that was running the Promo team in the early days. One of my tasks during high school was to go home at lunch an pick up the boat so I could make it to the lake in time for the family to get our practice runs in. I never realized what an impact this made on my classmates until my 10 year reunion. Looking back, I guess having a 16 year old kid showing up at school with a brand new ski boat is a much bigger deal then I ever realized.

Actually, from 82-92 were promo boats, then quit skiing tournaments and stopped doing promos. The two MasterCrafts really turned me of to MC. (I know they have gotten better since 98, as all brands have). Got divorced in 98. New girlfriend and her kids got interested in tournaments, started going to a lot of tournaments again, so I started doing promos for Correct Craft in 02. I was really impressed with the small slow speed wake of the new hull for those skiing below max speed. All of the big threee are fine at max speed and shortline. As Mikeski said, promos are a PITA if you aren't going to the tournaments anyway. That is why I quit in 92. Looking back at history, CC didn't exactly have a great wake in the early days, so I went with boats that did. In my opinion with the current boats CC has the best wake, tracking, driving, and quality. Each year of my 4 Nautiques has gotten better in quality, to the point that I really can't pick on anything on the '05, and I am VERY picky.
