Nautique Recommendations Please?

I am going to need a new to me nautique this summer as I upgrade from my 93' Ski Nautique. I need an open bow but I am not sure what to get. I am thinking a 98-02' Air Nautique.

The key here is that we do EVERYTHING. Ski, wake, skate etc. no surfing though due to wake restrictions on our river.

Thoughts? What is best and why?

What hull is the best crossover? TSC or TWC?

Sport and Air are essentially the same boat with the TSC hull. Pro Air is same as sport/air with the TWC hull. IMO the Sport/Air is the best all around solution, will do everything well and has plenty of storage. The 98 will have a playpen and step into the bow, 99'+ will have a true walk thru. Most will have 310hp GT-40, you may find an 02' with a 330hp Excalibur or some 99+ with the 320hp Apex, all good motors.

Have owned a 99' Sport/Air and an 05' 206, you lose a little storage with the 206 but you get back quite a bit of performance, tracks/turns much better, better slalom wake, wakeboard wake is comparable though the sport has a slight edge.

Interesting about the wake restrictions out your way, guess all these guy's running mega thousand pounds of ballast to do 1 foot jumps is starting to take its toll.

99+ Air or Pro Air would be my vote. Our family has had one since they came off the line. Awesome do it all boat. We've got a boom on ours and do everything from barefooting to weighting it some and surfing long boards. A very doable wakeboard wake as well with a tower.

Quinner pretty much nailed it... except the closest the Sport/Air ever got to having the TSC hull is the sticker they put on the side of it! In reality, the '98+ hull was a *very* slightly modified version of the 1993-1997 version. It reportedly skis the same, and handles a tick better. That hull was a stretched version of the 1990-1996 Ski Nautique. So, if your '93 meets your skiing needs and you just need more room, then the Sport/Air should be a great choice.

I just went from a 92 ski to a 02 super air and I love it. Extra room + storage. Its awesome would highly recommend.

The Pro Air hull has a reputation for PP not holding speed very well. Just what I have heard. No experience with one.

The pro hull did not work well with the paddle wheel but if you have stargazer it works fine since now uses GPS

Had a 1997 Sport which is very close to the '98 Sport. I would recommend going that route and staying away from the "Pro" TWC hull. That hull was only in production for a couple of years. I really had a hard time letting go of that '97 Sport, loved that boat. It really did everything well.

I'm interested in the same thing, but I would be moving from a 97 Ski Nautique. Is the 98-02 Sport/Air a better all around hull than the 216? I would like to have a little newer boat, but if the 98-02 is a better all around fit that may be the way to go. Anyone out there ski the course with their 216?
