I'm also plumbing my center tank and two front bags in my nautique with aerators this exact way , using Johnson's for my rears.
You and I have had different experiences for the same thing I guess. No matter how high I ran my hose, it would self fill up to when I put in the anti siphon loops. I was told by the guys at wakemakers that Malibu used the vented loops for their systems and that was why they are able to use aerators with no valves.

If I could have made it work the way you say you have had, I would agave saved myself $150 in 1" loops. Bummer it didn't work without it.

Weird, I know wake makers guys know there stuff I order all my parts from them and have gotten advice from them a few times as I've done plenty of ballast installs/upgrades as I buy and sell boats very often , hence the reason I know Malibus don't use vented loops . When I did a system with aerators on my supra I know the guys at wake makers even told me vented loops were not nessasary if I ran a high loop and in that case it was never an issue without them. Perhaps I may need them in this system I'm putting in my current 02 sante? I hope not! Lol I'm looping my 2 bow sac and center tank fill hoses up under the dash then back down to the tank and the bags.
