Rear ski locker walk through plank

Maybe a long shot, but I was hoping to possibly machine/fabricate a walk-thru plank (covered in sea dek) for either the port or starboard rear ski locker. I may be a little bit of a perfectionist, its just I would like to maintain the rear leather sun pad. This way, friends and family won't trek across the pads, causing the seams to eventually tear.

That being said, does anyone know the measurements of the rear ski locker opening for an '02 SAN? Even a rough measurement may give me an estimate for material costs, design layout, and truthfully to see if its even possible.
