Fat Sack recommendations for old - new 210

So I currently have an '05 210 in which I want to upgrade my ballast. (I'm sick of the old waterbed style bags.) However, my delimma is that I will probably be upgrading to a new 210 within the next 12 months or so. What are your suggestions?

I was thinking 3 400 lb sacks plus Tsumani pump. (1 in each locker in the back + 1 in the walk-through). However, should I just get the wedge sacks (for the back) and then sell them later when I get the new boat? How will the regular 400 lb sacks fit in the locker with the wedge tanks that are in there?

I am not going to plumb this in, and please do not suggest that I rip out the hard tanks because I don't want to do that either (especially if I'm going to be selling the boat within 12 months).

U have to use wedge sacs or remove the tanks. I would get a pair of wedges and just let them go with the boat. You'll need more than 400 in the bow. We keep 200 of lead in the bow at all times.

I was thinking i could partially fill the 400s in the back to get a "wedge like shape"? Sounds like not though?

I have some lead I use also (primarily to level out the boat). How much do you put in the front, if I'm only running the wedge sacks on top of the tanks in the back? By my calculations that would give me roughly 1k in the back, so I was guessing the 400 on top of the center tank (300 lbs?) would give me roughly 700 in the front.

You can do that with the 400's, but IMO the wedges just make total sense. The original hard tank design does not. When we go heavy it's usually stock tanks, the giant bow sac full, 100-200 lead in the bow, wedge sacs, and if it's just a driver sometimes we put about 300 lb sac on the floor parallel with the bench seat. A full tank of gas makes a huge difference too. To save money you could remove the hard tanks, it's about as simple as it gets, and put whatever sacs you would want to use in your new boat in there. This would allow tons of storage for the next year, and it really is not very time consuming to mess with the tanks.

in my 2002 SANTE i have 750s plumbed in place of my original hard tanks in the rear, the factory 350# belly tank, 1100# bow sac, 200#of lead and (2) 400# sacs i move around depending on rider. for a real "ballast upgrade" you'll need something like that. pulling the tanks is easy and takes about 10 min. put them back in when you want to upgrade boats and change out the tanks on your new boat with bags. you're just sacrificing rear storage with those wedges. been there, done that.. i'd do 750s in the rear, 400# in the walk way and another ~400# in the bow and it'll be a whole new wake. good luck

I agree pull the tanks out and put in 750 lb bags then just put tanks back on when you sell then keep the bags for your new boat!

okay. I think you've got me talked into just pulling the hard tanks and putting in 750s...

Will the regular 750s work or do they have a special bag for this project (vents, overlow, inflow in different places)?

Will I need anything else other than the bags (additional line, connectors, etc.)? Will I need to upgrade pumps, or will the stock pumps work?

With 1500lbs in the back, I'm guessing I'll need more than the 350 hard tank + 400 in the front (750 total)...probably will need a 750 in the front instead (total of 1,100)?
