    bilge pump

my 196 2005 ski only has one bilge pump by the motor. i would like to add another back by the rudder, it seems to be the lowest point. what is correct way to do the wiring. can i just run off the wiring for the first pump so it will work the same way, or will that be too much draw on the system. i would like to keep it simple without adding any more switches.

It will probably be ok to run both from the same switch. I would bet that the breaker can support the load (as long as both pumps are like the little automatic Rule pumps at 500gph).

You can hook it up that way and fill the bilge with your garden hose and see if the two pumps can empty it out together.

Watch out for the colors on the wires. The brown will start to look like the black wire in low light situations.
