The infants seem to be the easier because you feed em and they go to sleep so the first year is the easiest to be on the water with them. Once they start walking it gets to be a little more work and they can be a little tougher to keep happy but worth every minute. Sunscreen and a bimini are a must.

I wish I had seen this thread earlier.
After finishing the stringers and putting the engine in our first boat, our firstborn was 6 months old and we did the baby life vest and springy seat just like someone suggested earlier. It helps to have a bimini and other methods to keep the sun off of them. On hot days, gotta put lots of water on them and we even used a 12v fan.
Our second child was in the boat at 5 weeks (just as soon as my wife had recovered enough to waterski!)
Now the oldest is wakeboarding and the little one uses a ski board.
You are in for a lot of fun!Rob

This kid is a fish!! At 1-1/2 anytime his daddy is on the board he screams "daddy daddy" and does that like hand thing like "come here". When at home he will drag the surf board or wakeboard across the garage and stand on it.

Hey everyone, we ended up getting this life jacket for our little girl and it has worked well.

We will upgrade to a neoprene one once she gets bigger, but this fits her great while she is so little.--Kam

Daughter was on the boat at 2 weeks. Had floats rigged to car seat so it would always float as if she was sitting strapped in. also had infant life vest on her as well. She sat under the bimini and as another post said...slept the entire time. Actually tried getting away with telling the Coast Guard that she was the spotter when there were on two of us in the boat and state law required three...Got a warning...and a laugh out of him.
