What other things did Correct Craft do to change wakeboard boating

With the new boat that will change it all, I want to hear about what else Correct Craft did to change the industry. I heard they were the first to install a tower on a boat from the factory. If true thats pretty "changing" to the wake world. What about ballast, who was the first? Speed control? Anything else Nautique did first?

That is true CC introduced to tower I believe on the late 90s.

I think they were first with automatic ballast in late 97-98 in the Air Nautique.

Too my knowledge yes the ballast and Tower on the Air were firsts. Perfect Pass was an option on those boats in maybe 99, that was a first but I'm sure someone else can confirm that.

I think it was josh letchworth or Joey meddok who had a lot to do with the tower. Mc did spinner racks first I'm pretty sure.

It is funny. Before I bought my first Nautique, I remember seeing a spoof that some MC guys (or MC fans) put together about the various other manufacturers. Tige they ripped for ripping off everyone else. Malibu they ripped for the wedge. Nautique the ripped for never innovating. I guess if you are going to lie... lie really big.

I heard, back when the tower was introduced, that Nautique patented the tower and that they collect royalties on all towers that are made. If that is true or still true I don't know, but it is fair to say they lead the way with innovation and still do now.

Should be true at least for a while unless the new tower designs abate it. A few years back, I was looking at new boats of another brand and the royalty fee was listed on the window sticker.

Let's not forget that Nautique was the first to offer GPS-based speed control. That's a pretty big first.

Correct Craft is still being paid today for the tower patent by every manufacturer that uses an OEM tower on their boats. The guy that came up with the idea while working at CC tried to sue a few years later over the the inventorship rights. I believe he had already signed everything over the CC at that point so I have no idea if he was compensated after the lawsuit.

Plus you can mount some rocket launcher rod holders, tall VHF antennas, radar, and fly your favorite flags.

I love aluminum tubular towers....down with the new ones !!!!
