    2012 maiden voyage

I took the boat out today for the first time this year. Runs like a champ. Only issue is that perfect pass 6.5 seems like it's resetting every time I turn the engine off and asking for boat hours amongst other things. I got the manual and will set it up tomorrow, but if it is resetting every time i press stop would that be a memory wire like with a head unit or a variety of possibilities? I kind of liked driving old school with out p.p. today was supposed to just be a quick test run, but my buddy and I each snuck in a set. All in all I'm pretty happy right now. Btw, we are a boat ramp duo for sure. So seamless that I'm not sure folks were staring at the nautique or how real boaters work.

Ok. It definitely resets back to 0 hours every time I hit stop and then turn the ignition back on again. Either I have not saved it or have not finished setup properly or something is wrong.

It's resetting. I don't think it's necessarily a save issue. But it could be. The way the older Perfect Pass systems save info would be to sense a drop in power and then try to save all the changes before the power was completely cut. If the power is going from dropping to off too quickly, it doesn't have time to save. I was the test case for this with the first SG update and we must have gone through 5 master modules before they just gave up and changed how the module saved info going forward (now they auto save every time information is changed). Give them a call and check your voltage in the system info menu in Perfect Pass before you do. They will ask for that information.

Thanks. I'm going to to do a system reset tomorrow and follow the instructions is saved to iBooks. If that doesn't work I'm going to check the voltage, which never got below 13 something. I'm also going to do a servo test and what not also. Thanks for the help. I doubt pp is open tomorrow..

Be sure to check the voltage Perfect Pass is getting. Mine is usually in the high 11s with the engine off, I.e., in the garage.

Sounds like plenty, but my boat was giving it plenty of voltage, too. Give them a call on Monday. If you have a Google voice account, use it to make the call. The mobile companies charge a pretty penny for calls to Canada. Google voice is free.

So where is the master module located? I can't even reset the thing and nothing saves still.

I wish I had video of my dad and me launching our fishing boat when I was in grade school. With about a 30 second stop for him to wing nut the tail lights off the trailer and disconnect the winch line, I'd get in the cockpit. He would back her in and eeze the brakes just has she floated. It would shoot me back and I'd start the engine and pull her up to the bait stand while he parked. I probably started doing this at fifth grade. If he wasn't sure it would start or it was real windy, he'd back in slow and I'd crank her up then back off.

People were amazed. We did about the same way on the way in...but he'd pull up and park to put the lights back on. With LEDs, we would have been so fast people would never have even seen us.

To reset, old down the On/Off and Menu Buttons on your gauge right after you turn the key on.

For the Master Module, look on the driver's kickboard or on the bulkhead under the observer's seat.

If you have an LE, it'll reside within the Faria gateway box, so you won't see the typical PP box behind the kickplate.

It's a team. It won't reset when the procedure is followed. If I program it and don't turn the boat off it still works so that's what's happening for the next while.

Being a TE, it's in your Faria gateway, like an LE...

My '07 PP did some odd things too. It ended up being the wiring harness between the display and gateway. I re-soldered the wires to their jack and problem solved. When I upgraded to SG, I had to do the same thing again, only to the harness between the gateway and SG master module.
