216 or 210???

...i just wonder if when i start doing inverts and flips and all that good stuff will the wake then feel small???

No matter what your skill level, do you 'need' the absolute BEST wake boat there is? The obvious compromise is the 216. If and when you get that good, the less wake you'll need to do your tricks anyways.

Thats all true... but its not so much a matter of needing the best of the best wake....its more of on my personal scale. i probably wont need it, but... i have hydrofoiled behind some boats that i thought of as havng a "too" small a wake. not only do i not want that... but i just dont want it to get to the point where i feel i could use the 210 or a bigger wake...but i'm convinced now that that will not happen. I can see you people are leaning toward the 216. i find this ironic because our local dealer and some others say that they sell about out of the two boats... 60% are 210s and 40% are 216s...and if not that..more are 210s...

If you put a decent amount of ballast in the 216 it will throw a great wake, I wouldn't worry about the wake being too small. And if you think the wake is too small then just put some more weight in there...

I don't. The most popular watersport is probably wakeboarding these days. In with the wakeboard, out with the slalom.

Let me make it a little clearer...I agree that wakeboarding is the major water sport out there...that why like 12 people out of 15 say i should get the 210.... only one of those 15 people say i should get the 216. What i find ironic is that practially everybody on this site is saying go with the 216...but when i think about it,,,we are all talking about one situation... That one situation is not common.

Also...I'm not a big fan of adding after market ballast...i just think it ruins the clean look of the boat.... unless it is abosolutely nessisary...i would use aftermarked ballast as a last resort....

I haven't ridden behind any boat that I thought the stock ballast was sufficient. That includes my 210.

Abun - since your dad is buying the boat, which one does he want? Given that you're not the one writing the check his input is somewhat important.

The whole point of this topic is to find out which boats he/i want. We really haven't made a solid decision...its really hard...plus...i'm the one skiing... we do all the "boat shopping" and stuff together...i've been into boats since i was about 4 ish and knew what i was talking about 6/7 ish...so i'm a pretty devoted nautique fan..i'm 14 now....He doesn't ski anymore...hes tought me to drive cars and boats when i was four starting on his lap.. and now i'm a certified boat driver...better than most people... I once test drove a boat in 99 and the dealer was totally shocked by how good i drove....Its a good skill to have... but for whoever said they've never found sufficient stock ballast.... explain..this is interesting... Thanks again.... i'm sure if you really feel strong about it you can maybe get CC to at least hear about what you think...

No need to get defensive my man, was just posing a question. You bring up a new twist to this that I don't feel should be overlooked. You said dad doesn't ski anymore. What characteristics does HE want in a boat? If he's more interested in a riding / hanging out boat, the 210 is a better option.

Sorry i think i gave the wrong idea...i'm not getting defensive at all.... i just didn't want to start getting the wrong point across so i figured if i was going to explain everythign i might as well get it done then...Ya i no its just a question...i didn't take it more than anything more....And when i found out about this site...i thougth it was a "dream site come true."(dont worry i have a little bit of a life) i mean i would always talk with my dad about what CC should do and what they shouldn't...and i always thought were the only people who thought about that stuff so when i found out that other people thought the same thing i thought that was cool. Then i figured if the whole site felt strognly about something...like stock ballast...maybe we as a site could get CC to do something...instead of just listening to SeaWorld... Again...i'm not being defensife ....just want to clarify that so i dont get the wrong ponit across...I gotta go study for a vocab test tom. thanks again :!: [/b]
