    2006 Air Nautique 220

    Hi All,

I just wanted to see what you guys think a fair price for a 2006 220 is with about 300 hours on it. Also, what kind of issues has this boat had? Going to test drive it this Sunday.

Also, I was originally going to buy a 2005 sv-211, but how do these 2 boats compare? I do more wakeboarding, but not sure what my passengers will be doing. I'm assuming much of the same.

    Which would you guys get?

    Thanks,
    Joey

I'm really surprised that there are 42 views and 0 replies. I was hoping someone out there would have some feedback on this boat.

Its my opinion that the Nautique folks like to look out for each other and they aren't going to comment much on price; mainly to avoid screwing a fellow Nautique owner over. (Some of it might be looking after their own boats value as well) Case in point, the all black 2003 Nautique for sale on this site. It is priced at over 39k, and I have seen posts commenting on how that's a great price. For an 03, it boarders on ridiculous, regardless of condition.

If I had a better understanding of 220 pricing, I would be happy to offer my knowledge; I simply have no knowledge. (210 is pushing my towing capacity, so never looked at 220s) I will say the 220 was a bit sensitive to weight placement from what I have read, and it's interior layout is a bit odd. Looking at the hull shape and freeboard, my guess is the 220 was an attempt to give buyers a bigger water boat, even though it was never marketed that way. So if you deal with choppy conditions, the 220 might be a good bet.

It looks like mid 40's is typical, but that is just based on current 220 offerings on onlyinboards.

I have owned both. Had a 2006 sv-211 and currently own a 2008 220. Currently have a 230 on order. The 220 is a MUCH better surf and wakeboard boat IMO. The 211 has a good ski wake if you ski at all and will give you a fun surf and board ride with a fair amount of weight. Biggest difference is the interior is much more spacious in the 220 and the layout despite what people say is VERY WELL thought out and I will frankly miss it in the 230. Don't know fair price for either but if similar in price would def recommend the 220

thank you. they are somewhat similar in price. The 220 is a little more expensive, but it is also 1 year newer and a bigger boat so I expected that. I am more of a wakeboarder than anything else so I am leaning towards the 220, but just wanted to make sure the price was good and that there weren't a lot of issues with that year and boat. I have a 2011 Tundra so I'm assuming I can tow this thing no problem.

Your tundra will pull the 220 with ease. The only issue that I know about the 2006 220 is that the prop rotation is opposite what you expect ( so is the 2005 211). The main thing is that I think the odd interior layout will grow on you and you can easily figure out the finicky wake

Those sound like things I can live with. Awesome about the truck. Can't wait to test drive this thing.

                My $0.02 for you, the 220 is a LOT more boat than a 211, especially if you're a wakeboarder who doesn't need a ski wake. I have ridden behind the following CC's;

                211
                210-'08
                210-'06
                220-'06&'08
                230

of the boats listed above, the 220 in my opinion for boarding wakes is 3rd, with the 230 1st and newer 210 2nd. I prefer the 220 wake over the older 210. You will have to play a bit with your ballast, but you can get a very clean nice wake out of a 220. The surf wake on a 220 is crazy big, so a fun thing when the water is "toobed" out.
I actually think the 220 interior layout is great, but that's a personal opinion. The lean backs and trash can is underrated, the main cabin in the 220 is big, just check out how far forward the windshield is in that boat.

Pricing is all over the place on used boats right now, for an '06 in good condition, I would guess high $30's to low $40's depending on hours, condition and engine option, and trailer. The Excalibur will be plenty of engine with the correct prop.

Very useful piece of information. Sounds like the 220 is exactly what I'm looking for. I wish the price was a little lower or the hours were a little lower, but I guess this is what can be expected since I'm buying a used boat. Thanks for the input

Do a thread search on the 220 and you will get a lot of information about weighting it, etc.

I have a 220 and it is a great boat. It is a bit sensitive to side to side weight, but then again, most nautiques are because they have a deeper v hull, with the new 210 being the exception. I agree with the above comments about the interior layout and wakeboard and surf wakes.

IMPO, I'd look for a 210 OR 230... reasons 1. I've owned a 211 and you can find MY posts/comments on the 211. reason 2 I rode 2 summers in the 220. I bought a 210...People will disagree with me on this comment, but get the 6 liter in the 220. Personally I like the interior layout in the 220. Amazing surf wake in the 220....Amazing.

I have a '06 220 that I have had since new. I have 465 hours and the only problem was the starter went after 3+ years. I am a very novice boarder and surfer but I love the boat. I surf all the time with one or two passengers and the stock ballest. I have also found you can clean up the wake playing with the hydro-gate....changing the position depending on which side the rider is approaching the wake from.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I can get a few seasons in before I have to start fixing things. I'm going to have the boat shop take a good look at this boat and let me know if it has a clean bill of health and then next week I should be picking it up.
