Help! Is 2004 Ski Nautique 206 with double balast system good for wakeboarding?

looking at buying a 2004 Ski Nautique (model 206). My kids primarily wakeboard. This boat has a dual balast system. Is this going to be enough to kick up a good wake for wakeboarding?

The 206 hull was designed to make as small of a wake as possible. Even with the ballast, it just isn't a wakeboard boat.

I wakeboard behind my brothers 04 SN 206 every other time we go out. Every other time is behind my 94 MC 205. Jeff is correct in saying this boat was designed for no wake and comparing to my MC, it is a softer wake when we load them down with ballast. The top of the wake rolls over for a soft top were my MC has a harder corner at the top of the wake and it it's more of a wall.

FYI. We are 45+ old guys having fun so it works for us. My son would be a better person to ask and he wakeboards behind both.

I would test drive the boat with your kids and see how they like it. It's an awesome boat to own though.....

How does it compare to the wake thrown up by a Maibou w a wedge?

You are going to LOVE skiing behind it. There is one at our marina which I love ski besides my 196. Also don't look at a 211 you will hate skiing it and they will hate wakeboarding behind it.

As for the Bu. What model with the wedge. Response? At the end of the day, still a Bu. Ok I went to far, but it early.

The 206 has a decent wake at slower speeds say 13 to 18...especially for kids. At 20, the wake starts to disappear. Guys running at 21 to 23 won't feel like they are at a park...but maybe close.

The other notable is since the draft is low, the 206 is very weight sensitive. My son is goofy so he enjoys when I stay in the driver seat. My daughter is not and I slide over to the jump seat.

It helps when you have some smart people in the boat that can watch the wake and lean too and fro to help it....or at least not hurt it. One bag along the port side corrects the problem....but then you have to step over it.

But I still say we love our 206 and it is perfect for our family right now. The day it doesn't become perfect will be the day we need two boats. (210 for wake and something else for footing)
