New 200, where in the *$% is the cooler

Hey guys, just got my new 200. I have been looking all over the boat for the built in ice chest, but to no avail. Did Nautique not put them on the 200's? My 196 had it right in the floor by the drivers seat. We didn't use it a lot but when we did it was sure handy.

Funny Thread. Nautique said " NO COOLER FOR YOU " I see a bag cooler behind the drivers seat.

Nautique could at least throw in a Styrofoam cooler in with the sale of each boat!

Our 98 SN has three coolers. One in the floor and two in the glove compartment. We never use the one in the floor. As for the glove compartment, we use the left half for ice and drinks and the right half for gear.

Check there and see if there's a drain plug. Of course, that may be where the stereo is now. So, um, sorry about that for you.

out of luck, no longer exists. I must admit in our 196, it had 3 and can't ever remember using any of them.

No built in cooler, bag cooler (or two) behind the drive seat and a huge smile on my face. Would it be nice? Sure. I had a built in cooler in my previous boat and only used it about 1/4 the time.

Now that you mention it, I think I spent more time wiping out the cooler when cleaning my boat than using it as a cooler. It did, however, make a nice place to put empty cans and water bottles when on the water. ...My favorite feature of a traditional transportable cooler in the boat... it can be easily relocated to the swim platform on a hot day in a quiet cove.

I have found boat coolers much better as dry storage than as actual coolers. They never have enough insulation and melt ice too fast.

The ones in the floor right in front of the engine are particularly bad. The one in the glove compartment of my 98 Ski isn't terrible. Still needs more insulation though. Would probably be pretty easy to go under the observer seat and wrap that side of the glove box in some stick on insulation.

That's exactly what I was going to say. I have discussed many times how nice it would be to have a well insulated cooler in the boat.
