    Wakesurf Protection

I have an '04 SANTE 210 that we wakesurf behind. Last year a fairly new rider let the board get into the back of the boat and it made a few scuffs in the gelcoat -- nothing too serious and they mostly buffed out. In any event, has anyone ran into similar problems and done anything to protect their boat from the board? Pad on the boat? Pad on the nose of the board? Any suggestions other than keeping new riders in the boat (LOL!)?

Yes. This happens a lot, and there are many solutions. Search "transom shield" and "keel shield." You can also use sano pad material.

Here is what I did . I got the idea off the Malibu forum. My wife made it out of a piece of 1/2'' carpet padding covered in vinyl . It straps to the side handles with parachute clips . Easy on easy off total protection.

I ordered a 3M film of the kind used to cover car hoods and front bumper and installed it on the transom just above the swim platform. Perfectly invisible yet very protective. About 35$ on ebay for 8" x 96"

I never thought much about this until last week-end. I was surfing and my wife was driving: she wanted to move the hydrogate and instead moved the throttle and completely stopped the boat. I went crashing towards the boat and managed to veer quickly to avoid it at the last second. Thanks for the useful ideas folks, at least for the minor scuffs. Hopefully this incident won't happen again!

I looked into the 3M product but it doesn't protect the board . I use a foam core board its like a ocean board the nose is thin and fragil. I like the pad because it can take a hit and protect both boat and board.
