    2004 226 Team - Where is the shower? :)

I recently purchased a 2004 226 Team edition, and it has the button on the control panel for the shower, but I can't find any other controls or the shower itself. The manual is nearly useless as it only includes an overall schematic.

I'm assuming it didn't come with the option, but the button is always included with the panel. Is this correct or is the shower hidden somehwere?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mike

In 2003, Correct Craft made the decision to discontinue offering a shower in the boats, It was thought to be a safety hazard, because the shower was most often used with somebody on the platform, with the engine running. There was a possibility of Carbon Monoxide poising from engine exhaust, and the possibility of falling into the water, and a running engine being put into gear, and a potential hazard from that.

In some 2003 boats, the wiring for the shower pump was installed in the bilge, Look at the starboard stringer, underneath the engine. You are looking for a two wire connector, with a short jumper plugged into it.

Actually CC still did factory install of the showers thru 05' (I know as I ordered on my 206). The dash panels are all the same, so they all have the buttons however may not have the actual accessories.

Another thing to look for is blue and red water lines coming off the motor, the red would be on the starboard side coming right out of the block, if u find that follow to the pump and from there is should go to your mixing box with the dials.

I not not want to get into a pointless debate, but I was working for a CC dealer from 2001 to 2003, and got sent to a weekend training seminar at West Coast Correct Craft in 2002, and 2003.

That is where I was told about the discontinued showers, and the reasons why.

Since you have a 2003 boat, if you had one made early in the model year, is it possible that the shower was installed by Correct Craft, before the decision was made to not "factory install" the showers in the 2003 boats. Your shower could have put in by the dealer, or a regional service center.

During this time frame, dealers could order boat with or without accessories. Boats had many options installed by the dealer, sometimes the boats also had accessories installed at the regional service center, if the dealer wanted the boats that way. The boats also arrived at the dealer in many cases, without the windshield installed, tracking fins, and propeller in a box, tower not installed, and inside the boat, and drained of all water.
