Mines the same way, we have to keep the boat high in the lift because if its low enough she will jump in even if the cover is on.

Our previous golden was just the right height that she could walk under the rope when someone was skiing, and she never put her paws up on the side since she could already see out. She was great on the boat. Our current golden is bigger and a bit of a spaz, so he has never been on the boat, but he hangs out with everyone on shore so he is happy. He did jump completely over a friend's boat, without going in the boat, in pursuit of a tennis ball. Somehow he must have known. ...I can talk too much dog as well.

i thank CC every weekend for my removable carpet. The day my golden started coming on the SAN, i put the carpet away for good.
I also lay towles(and tuck them in good) on top of every seat bow 2 stern. At the end of the day I pull out the towels and seats are relatively clean.Migs

must be the food! we've had our lab out 3 times now and not much hair. And no brushing or anything either. I'd rather have the hair than towels everywhere.
Just me, though.

My lab will bark incessantly anytime anyone is in the water (riding, etc.). I think he thinks the person is in danger. At any rate, it is too annoying and got him banned from the boat. Now

A couple comments.
1. Our dag Nauti has been on the boat a couple times. Although she likes the boat for short periods she hates the all day event. It is entirely to hot for a dog especially a black one. I have a golden and we shave her in the summer which helps. Leave the dog at home, she will like it/you better. OR HE.
2. We have taken the dog on the boat a couple times. boots for her feet have to be taped on. no standing on the seats. If we use the 210 I pull the carpet out, causing her to slide everywhere. If we take the 196, there are always white towels down over the cheap carpet from home depot which is over the factory carpet. I get a little dog hair on the gunwale (I just learned the proper spelling this weekend) carpet. I pick it off by hand.
3. If you are going to take the dog. bring lots of water. Don't forget the bathroom breaks. All that boucing tends to make them sick...
I love my wife, however when we got married I explained the boats were there before her and she needs to understand how she fits into the boat and I life. Have your wife call mine and she will be happy to explain it to her.
Also Nauti never made it on the boat last year and looking like she won't this year.

Yeah, in our Nautique, I use our "stair attachment" to our Bissell steam cleaner, and it pulls out a lot of dog hair (most, not all). Then, I use a rubber-bristled brush for pet hair removal from carpets and it usually picks up the rest and lifts the nap of the carpet as well. About as good as I can expect having a dog in the boat on occasion.Todd Aalbu

your lucky. Actually, my dog would be the perfect dog if she didnt shed so bad. She loves the water but when she is in the boat she just chills in a corner.

I owned nautiques years before I met my wife. I married her in a time I did not have a boat. We bought the current boat together which makes it "our" boat. That, keeps me from banning the dog otherwise I would. Whats her number!!!
