    Bad weather...rule of thumb

Just wondering what your rule of thumb is with bad weather and wake boarding/surfing.
Sometimes we get rolling storms sweeping through the lake, with scattered showers. We generally head back when we hear thunder. So, as long as it's just rain, we keep on riding.
It this what you guys do as well? Any other advice?

Rain for us is not a big deal but if we know thunder storms are coming we start back to the ramp early. We waited until a storm was a few minutes away once and spent an hour floating in a bad lightning filled storm because there were 20 boats ahead of us at the ramp. Bad planning on our part, won't happen again, we usually look at the radar a few times a day now and know when to head for cover.

In gray areas, all passengers should go ahead and get their vests on. That way its all worked out before panic time. Wrong sizes, broken snaps, or whatever can be remedied before any lives are threatened or the boat becomes difficult to move around in.

If there's lightning we are out. Just rain is fine though. Had a funnel cloud/waterspout form very close once. It was crazy lookin.
