Pic of mates boat with FCT1 and Ameritic OTT stowed away...hope this helps? Sorry don't have a pic up but it fits to rear of tower like mine which doesn't impede wake or surf ropes. Boards spin in out of boat freely..

Also a couple more pics of mine. That's my boy in the last pic, i'm 6' ...he's approx nose height on me so gives you a good idea on head room. I really do like the look of the below tower bimini but having to duck under all the time would drive me nuts

Well, I think I am going to place an order today for an UTT bimini from tower biminis despite not being able to use the spinners. I was really hoping I could use the spinners with the bimini closed because I only plan to use it when out with the family. I may have problems with bumping my head occasionally with an UTT but if I buy an OTT bimini & my wife complains about not having enough shade for her & the kids...that will give me an even bigger headache. I think the FCT1 is a little taller than the titan tower so I'm guessing it might have a little more headroom...not sure though. I considered the ameritex bimini but it looks like there is some drilling involved which I wanted to avoid if possible.

I dont bump my head, I duck, its habit now. I even duck in my brothers boat with the over the tower bimini out of habit. I have no drill holes needed on my bimini and it's the easiest binimi i've owned to put up, even my wife can do it by herself.

This was on old boat (211): I made the change from UTT to OTT becasue wife complained about having to duck under. Avoiding the conflict with the spinners I was in the process of adding was a happy coincidence. I figured there would be a reduction in shade, but didn't become a problem for us. . . but it had to be a pretty hot day in the Seattle area for us to put up the bimini, or it would be up for a week long vacation in Eastern Washington where days in the mid 90s to 100s are common. Even when there, I thought the shade value was about the same, besides the kids rarely sit still, but if they want shade, they can find it if they want it. When we'd surf with the OTT up I saw the bimini would flex a little but no harm came of it. I really liked the design of the Tower Bimini OTT rear struts, too, it made a nice cantilever section aft of the rear tower tube, and the forward section of the bimini also had the typical forward projection as well, making for a nice shady area in the cockpit. Assume the 210 application would be similar. Just my 2 cents.

We have good coverage with an OTT but I had the back bars extended on the one towerbimini did for me.

Ok I made it a point this weekend to look at the amount of shade from both under and over biminis since I was going to be on both boats in back to back days. The under I would say offers much more shade, I would say 30-40% more. Not only when the sun is blasting at you from the stern but also port or starboard. Heres a shot of how the tow point is set back which causes a surf rope pull down on the bimini support.

Thanks for the help TxJole, especially since we both have the same tower. I think the UTT will be better for us but I've been busy a haven't had a chance to order one yet, I should really get my crap together & order it tomrorow cuz it's a 2 week build time with tower biminis & our summer is short up here.

I have a 230 with the Titan and had a local canvas shop make me a larger OTT bimini that extends further forward, and also past the rear tower bar a little, and angles down some. Works great, no rope issues, and actually protects the speakers a bit (does not affect the sound either). There is a slight "bump your head" hazard when coming in from the walkthrough... And the factory speakers can also cause a head bump as well if coming in from the side. Overall I am happy with the OTT bimini. I suppose I could have had a little more extensive framework done and it could have served a little bit of storage purpose. Sorry about the picture quality, but I think you can see what I am talking about.

Jole..... we slip the rope under the OTT Bimini.... it works perfect for surfing anyway.

Funny you say that I was looking at doing that this weekend but my brother is kinda funny about change. As you can see by his old knotted rope he has hanging in the photo, he placed 5th in nationals with that rope and its been cut up so many times we have no clue how long it really is, but thats his surf rope and wakeboard rope. I even have a new "real" surf rope he wants no part of. (Oh and he has atleast 6 brand new ropes still in the package i'm about to start selling for him).
