    tower bimini & spinner racks

I have a 2008 SANTE 210 & need to buy a bimini for our 10 month old that will be out with us on the boat this year. I am looking to buy an under the tower bimini from tower biminis & was told the bimini would prevent me from using the spinner racks. Does anyone here know if you can spin the racks if the bimini is stowed in the boot?

I know this isn't an issue with an OTT bimini but would prefer an under tower with better coverage for the kids.

Nope you can not, been fighting thing same issue. Love the shade provided by the under tower compaired to over but hate the fact OEM spinners are useless.

Have the FCT2 and Ameritec OTT on my 08 210. My buddies 08 with the FCT1 tower has the same set up. If you are wanting the best head room and cover for your kids...IMO...you won't get better! Also no issues with my spinners with bimini up or down! What tower do you have?

You have the Titan tower. I have the FCT2 with the under bimini and my brother has the FCT2 with the overtop. Mine has by far more shade with less headroom and can't use the spinners.

If I'm not mistaken understand the Titan tower tower is the FCT2?

The Ameritec OTT looks bigger than your brothers Tower Bimin and the FCT2 being slightly lower tower would help give more cover?

My other brother boat has the FCT1. Atleast this is how it was explained to me by Brett at Star One.

I have the same tower as TxJole which I believe to be the FCT 1 (second generation)....most refer to the titan tower as the FCT 2.

Thanks for the reply's guys, I figured the spinners would probably unusable even when the bimini is stowed away with the type from tower biminis. I checked yesterday with Ameritex and it cost about $200 more than the one from tower bimini's. I was hoping to go the cheaper route as this summer brings new bimini, surf board, additional ballast, ZO update & antenna & new boat cover. IDK, maybe the extra $200 is worth spending to be able to use the spinner racks?

I'm thinking about the over, biggest problem is losing the surf rope on the tower with the over. It pulls down HARD on the rear bimini support.

That's good to know about surf rope, we surf alot. If you want to sell your UTT bimini let me know.

As the others have said, the spinner racks are pretty useless when the bimini is up. Although, I have found a way to bring the racks in and stow the bimini at the same time. I put together a video for someone else a while back and you can watch it here to see how it works. Not the easiest thing in the world to do but still can be done alone with a little dexterity. You can see at the start of the video that I have the arm of the bimini going through the center of the board racks.

Hope this helps. We did the under mount for the shade. (we have a 3 yr old) Its been great, no complaints.

Just realized in one of your last post that you have the FCT1 tower. Sorry, but maybe you can make it work in the same manner. It took me a while to "tetris" it together and make it work.

We have on over the tower from Towerbiminis.com. Very good quality. There is no issue with the surf rope - we surf a lot. Actually had the opposite problem with wake boarding, where at the longer length we had to bump up the rear of the bimini, so that it wouldn't scratch the bimini rear lip.
When we looked at the under the tower bimini, one issue to consider is how low it sits. Looks just about the right height to smack your head as you enter from the back of your boat, if you are not careful.
We don't have the issue with coverage either - in fact, my wife loves the sun and the bimini works so well, she wants it removed...

Do you have the frame that sticks out past the rear bar? I'm really interest how u get the surf rope not to pull down on the frame. We surf more in the red boat and I would really like to use the tower.
